This will be my first holiday season with Protector/COH as a whole... Well actually, I'll be getting my one-year badge right around this time so technically "second," but y'know. Anyone wanna elaborate?

I've been spearheading this for *gulps* 5 or is it 6 years now (I want to say this is the 6th year) ? I honestly don't remember, but it's been a few years now and every year there's on average at least 20 participants. It's a lot of fun, and an excellent way to spread holiday cheer to your fellow Protectorites.
I'm getting the feeling that this will be a go again this year, so I'll probably be putting up the info post in the near future.

Sure! It's a good, old fashioned holiday card exchange. Everyone who is interested submits their info (I've been using a form to gather info and it works well). Once we get past the cutoff date (usually around US Thanksgiving), I send the list to everyone who is in, and we send everyone who's signed up holiday cards and receive cards (and sometimes other surprises).

Ahh, have you considered taking a 'Secret Santa' approach instead? I could think of a few Protector Pals I'd be able to send specific cards/etc. to but I feel like this system would lead to a sort of generic/empty approach, at least on my end, if it involved sending out a bunch of things to people I'm not close with/haven't played with long enough to give anything really sincere or personalized to.

Pfft! A card exchange is more fun! If someone sends things in their cards, its because they want to, not because it's necessary. The only thing required in the card exchange is to send cards. Anything else is optional, and /not/ required.
Trust me, it really is something fun to do, if any of the enthusiastic responses are any indication.

If you want to send the same cards with the same wishes to everyone else, that's cool too.
Believe me, even receiving a simple "Merry Christmas, dude" from someone you might not know very well is still very very appreciated

Can I send cards that are partially burnt and have numerous puncture holes and say they're from my spine/fire scrapper? I always imagine that quills and blazing aura would make handling any paper product difficult.

The first year, I sent a card from my main heroes Kreetch and Nonohana... with a note saying they had to stop Madam Rouge (my main villain, Mercs/Poison MM) from poisoning the envelopes!
In the past few years, we've received candy canes, homemade tree ornaments, etc.
... I wonder if Golden Ace will send us bio-hazard mate... huh... candy again this year ?

Yes yes and yes. Last year was my first year participating but it was a blast!!!
"Many people say the Yeti is only a legend while some people believe in its existence but nobody has been able to prove it,"
I know the ladies would be upset without a sexy Santa card from me. So I am in again this year.
Also if money is tight for someone you can also send e-cards. Of course it's always nice to hear about Stalemate's wife aggro from the cost of mailing to the U.S. and elsewhere.
Another place to find inexpensive cards is your local Dollar Store. Or you can make cards if you're feeling creative. The possibilities are endless.

I managed to sneak out of the doghouse at some point. Just don't remind her.
Still, this is a Protector tradition I'm looking forward too yearly.

Is there any interest in doing Ye Annual Holiday Card Exchange this year? If so, I'll work on getting it together. Discuss.
