VIP Server?

I'm pretty sure a lot of us are planning on making a couple of alts on the VIP server when Freedom launches so what I was thinking was that we should make a Protector Supergroup and a Protector Villaingroup over there for anyone who calls this server home. For my part I'd be willing to start up the VG. So does this seem like something you guys would be interested in?

We've tried stuff like this before, setting up little SGs outside the Protector environment, usually with a little theme. They've typically ended in failure.

Also, we're not exactly the tight-knit group we once were. Real Life has interfered, there have been arguments that have damaged friendships, and the economy has been pretty painful for the past few years.

For my part, I've put a lot of effort into putting characters on this server. A lot of them, too, and I intend to bring more when I-21 hits. I'm too exhausted to start all over on a new server.

I don't particularly care for the VIP server, anyway. I don't see what would be so "extra special" about it. I feel Freedom and Virtue will still wind up the heaviest populated servers, and if a VIP server will ease the load off of the people who frequent those two, then so be it.

So... There's my two cents on the subject. Others will probably be more upbeat about it, though, so don't let my opinion on matters deter you. I wish you the best of luck to get a following for this idea. If there's one thing I like, it's the sense of community this server usually exudes, and if we were to export that to the VIP server, then I would be quite pleased.

Yeah, I was thinking of moving/making some characters there and it would be nice to have some familiar people to play with. Count me in.

I'll probably move a couple alts over there, but I have no plan to leave Protector.

I don't plan on leaving Protector, but I may move some of my lesser played guys over there for giggles. Let me know if/when you set that up.

I am going to transfer a few toons over to play. While Protector is my main server, I don't mind playing on another server at all. It's the friends, not the server name that makes a home. If all of my friends and I logged into a different server by accident I'd never know the difference!

I'm considering moving some toons over there myself but I'm going to see how things go after Freedom is launched first.

If Protector (or any of the other servers I'm on) gets overrun by jerks because it's free, I may move toons over.

If things don't change, I'll probably stay which is my preference. I spent a lot of time on my SG base and I'm not really inclined to start over again

Well, I went ahead and started a Protector-based villain group on Exalted. If anyone from protector decides to roll a villainous alt over there and wants to join just let me know.

I will probably move some lesser played characters there as well, but with the upgrade to 48 possible character slots, I have a long ways to go again before filling up protector.

Not that I didn't make a good start on it yesterday, started 6 new alts :-)

I have some toons over there. While I prefer to have my own SG for crafting and storing purposes, I can put a toon in your SG to help you gain prestige

I made a character there last night to try out the new toys in Mercy.

After 20 minutes... walked away in anger.

It wasn't the people, everyone was pretty friendly, it was the number of people. I simply couldn't get anything done because everyone else was trying to do the same things.

On the other hand, made a new character on Protector, and moved at a pretty brisk pace through the new heroside content.

At least untill the shiney wears off, I think my choice is obvious.

I just reserved the name Nylonus on there.

I wonder if I can get the name "Trickshooter" as well?
