Quote:I think they are missing that they can sell new animations for old sets just like they can sell new sets. I think they are caught up in new mechanics. They have decided to go with new powersets over new animations and one AT(MM) customization.
They are going to announce new powersets coming down the road Pummit geekfest deal.
We are cool with the old mechanics (in many cases), but we really want new animations for those old sets. -
Quote:So with this my scrappers can crit as much as my stalkers do. Great! Looks like love to me.Well the thread is here.
So who's better at critical damage? Meh, sure, it's only at lvl 47 and only after you buy a ridiculously priced enhancement but hey...
...What am I saying? This is stupid >_> and OP... -
Quote:This may sound weird, but I would hate to see any nerf to stalkers. I like the way they play now. What I would rather see is something added to scrappers to make the lines less blurry between not only them and stalkers, but with brutes as well.Honestly though thinking about things a bit more I think it may be apropriate to remove the team based crit chance on Stalkers. From what I remember that change was put in because Stalkers could not realistically make use of Hidden attacks in team situations so the team crit was added as a way to bypass the issues that interfered with crits.
Now that we have Focus I don't think the team crit is necessary anymore
since Stalkers can undeniably deal out the ST damage they were always meant to.
For instance, I love the demoralize that AS has a chance to do. I could see something like that added to scrapper crits. I would like to see scrappers be immune to fear, because it is obvious scrapper players are immune to it.
I still maintain there are things that could be given to the scrapper that wouldn't do too much damage to scrapper balance.
Dang it, just as I think I am done with this thread, I get drawn back into it! -
Quote:I LOVE this, but it does add a measure of complexity that others have been clear that they do NOT want added to scrappers.So...anyways...looking from this from another angle, how about a "Second Inherent" for Scrappers, since Doms have two primaries and all that.
Anyways...
BRAVADO:
"Scrappers LOVE to fight, and not just in small doses. They love it all, from single foes to massive bar brawls. Fighting will fill your Bravado's power bar. When the bar fills, the Scrapper expends his energy into an insane burst of violent fury. Additionally, each of the Scrapper's teammates gains a small bonus to damage, since a good fight always invites a crowd!"
Numbers:
Basically, it's a Dom bar that fills for Scrappers like Fury would for Brutes or Domination does for Dominators.
Once you click it, you would get one of:
Guaranteed crits for next X seconds?
HUGE damage buff to self (+75% damage?) and a smaller buff to teammaes (+12.5%)?
A "Terrorize" cone effect? Not really in flavour for the idea though.
Benefits:
Wouldn't require Devs to sort through each attack set's damage mods.
Fire and forget nature, doesn't need tweaking or balancing for IOs or anything.
Would help against large targets and just allow overwhelming of weaker foes.
Weaknesses:
Need to re-code a powerbar for an older AT.
MOAR DAMAGE might not be the solution here.
A team buff might be too much. -
I think these two statements are the heart of this thread, and these discussions in general.

Quote:I will. I will be away till Sunday though. I hope I can at least get to the web page from my mother's. She lives in the middle of no where and has dial up though.Well since that's just purely graphics I'm not going to cry if they're not ready
You can not imagine my sadness that I will miss the first few days of testing. -
The worst part is it is the costumes they usually hold back.

I even pointed out in the chat that he got the crappy table. Meh, I still hold a grudge against that site because of the Fight Crime in Style contest any way.

I am actually surprised we have not all been slapped on the wrist at this point.

I am not defending him, I am stating that we have all been guilty of stepping over the line as of late. How can I chastise when I have done the same thing? Because as you personally know I recognize when I do it and attempt to make it right. I see when it is wrong.
I like most of the people in this thread, I like Darth, I like you Reppu, because of that, not in spite of that, is why I think we need to keep each other accountable. We can do it, or it can get real crappy like it was in the Lighthouse days. -
Quote:I have...like three times in 7 years. Last night was one of those three times, and before anyone gets any ideas, it was not in this thread, or on anyone in this thread.Do you report posts you believe to be in violation of the rules, Khasei?
And by report I mean click on that little red triangle underneath the poster's name to bring it specifically to the attention of the mods.
Some crap gets old fast, being called names is one of those things. I try REALLY hard to speak to people on these boards in the same manner I speak to them face to face. I really hate keyboard tough guys/gals. They tend to display attitudes that would result in escalation in a more personal setting. It is that whole "do unto others thing"
Example: If someone called me an ****** retarded American to my face there would be violence soon after, unless it was a lady then I would find my owns degrading harsh words to add to the mix.
The point is there are people here in general that are not respecting the edicts of polite society. -
Quote:I have to agree with this.I have, but now you don't want to stand up for yours that have nothing to do with me, like this name calling deal. That's low brow and it will be resolved organically.
In the interim I will ask you to cut out the personal attacks and name calling while you are here. -

Quote:Zwill said it in the chat. I figure if it is this week it will be around 4pm est today.Yeah, I would have loved to hear what the devs were saying, because the guy clearly was getting some things wrong trying to relate them second hand.
Also I'd like to know where this rumor about the i23 beta opening this week got started. Considering today is Thursday, and tomorrow is Good Friday, that seems not so likely. Could still open today, sure, but seems way too soon.

Again with the hive mind. Really any scrapper that is /wp is pretty easy to get to know the game with.
-
I think there was a bit of Dev magic involved in how easy he was. None of the incarnate trial tests have run like that, and that is with devs and some of the best players in the game. I don't see a few devs and press people who don't even know how to re-toggle flying through the trial w/o a bit of help.

Quote:It is not just that, it is the blatant clear violation of the forum rules that allows this thread to be here 27 pages, that is really confusing since the OP admitted to be on a "crusade" in the first post.
5. Non-Constructive posts are prohibited.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of examples of non-constructive posts. As a rule, non-constructive posting is not permitted:
"Do not engage in Lobbying on the Official Forums. Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted. We recognize you may be passionate about a specific subject, however this sort of posting is non-constructive and will not be tolerated."
I hate this ended up in three different threads, I really wish it had been in only one. Each thread was started by a different person, and those of us passionate about posted in each of them. It is just sort of the nature of message boards, and any online community.
I am pretty much done with it, and will PM Synapse, or ambush him next time I seem in chat.
I do think there is an imbalance in the Melee ATs. I however am no longer sure of what could be done to solve that issue. My endurance idea was disliked, and I strongly disliked EG's original idea. -
Quote:The way I see it is there are two options. No, it doesn't. When your characters meet your handwave vanishes in a puff of logic.
I keep bringing this up: Quine-Duhem Thesis. The tl;dr version is that if you try hard enough you can bamboozle yourself into believing anything. That doesn't mean you should. The amount of handwaving and looking the other way required to make "level-based story progression" work pole-vaults past the point of reason.
The story stays stagnant, and never moves forward. We get bored as hell and complain.
The story moves forward, and those who don't like it complain.
Either way, someone complains. So, we can rationalize it, and allow new players to enjoy old content, while we get new content. Or, we can move forward and erase the old content. No matter the path taken, someone complains.
