Quote:Within the confines of the Trial, perhaps. And there's really nothing to say how much of Praetoria is affected, and to what extent the damage has spread. First Ward is a perfect example. We means this from an RP perspective not from a game mechanic perspective.
According to what we're hearing Praetoria is reduced to a lifeless wasteland thanks to Cole.
As has been pointed out several times, story telling works in many ways within the structures of City of Heroes, as do timelines.
Again, wait for more official information please. -
Quote:This is not the case. The point is that once I23 hits live, you can't, ever, make a new Praetorian character because the whole of Praetoria is no longer there
I would strongly recommend that you not put a lot of stock in rumors. Wait for official confirmation from a Red Name or for an official article, such as an Issue overview or an Intrepid Informer article. I promise, there is much more information to come. -
Update 1:30 PM PDT 4/4/2012 - This maintenance has been extended. We currently do not have an estimated time of restoration of the PlayNC website services. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
We'll be sure to keep everyone updated. -
People have a right to their own opinions and they are welcome to express them in an intelligent, respectful, and concise manner on these forums.
I do not look favorably upon calling out people for expressing their satisfaction or disdain for a particular subject, and the continuing discussion is unnecessary. -

Honestly, it's the first thing that came up when I typed "Go on...".
I always find it fun to see the players speculate on what we're working on. It pains me that I can't say anything about this particular subject...
Yes...pains...

Quote:In my experience, have several family members (in law) who live in rural parts of Indiana, satellite is little better than terrible DSL. That may have changed since my days in telcom, but I'd be suspect of anything that's not cell based. If you can't get cable internet where you live the government right now is heavily subsidizing the rollout of satellite internet. The government pays for all the equipment and the install, you just have to sign a contract.
I don't find satellite internet to be awesome, but if DSL (which doesn't require a phone) and Cable aren't available then Satellite is alright. -

Quote:What state? If Verizon FIOS is available, I would go with them, hands down. I've had everything from COX to Comcast to AT&T, and (personal opinion here) FIOS has always been amazing. Good customer service, very little downtime and the speed couldn't be beat for the price.Q1: Is there a "Best" ISP for gaming.(PC/PS3/X360) That won't need a phone line(mom dose not want one.) but is stable during a weak storm(Rain, not risking a lighting). (If need be we can talk about this in PMs if the forums do not allow talk of this).
There's also some WiFi ISP options available out there, usually running off of some version of LTE or WiMax.
Quote:Q2: How dose one choose a color for there room. I'm trying to think what i want and how to do it but can't narrow it down it seems. Form a basic color for all or going a little art like and doing some "tricks"(like waves or clouds, etc).

Quote:I think you are over reacting, maintenance has to be done or eventually it would all come to a screeching halt. So for those few hours you won't be able to buy points to buy w/e costume piece you randomly feel you need and don't have... like you can't buy it the next day?
As far as billing services if your account expires on that day exactly (which I doubt it does) your card would likely be billed weather before or after said window, and your account will likely be billed before or after the maintenance window if you use time cards simply buy one and apply before said date. if you need switch which card you use do it before the window like the day before.
It is a few hours man, not the end of the world real or digital.
I think TJ was joking Xeno... -
Quote:No, I will not give you a specific date.Zwill can we get a straight answer from you, no mysterious memes or platitudes, just a straight yes or no.
Is staff melee coming out next Tuesday?
Staff is currently slated for April. That's about as specific as I can be. -
Quote:It's been expressed in multiple instances.I wonder Zwill where you got the idea that we have a perception that Paragon have been focusing too much on melee?
The current perception seems to be that you're overusing the new rig to the point of tedium.
Also, it is possible that there are multiple perceptions present at the same time.

Quote:If I have my way...Now can we get a purchasable Jarate temp power? I'm sure Valve would LOVE to do a cross promotional with CoH!

Quote:Another game beat us to that years ago.But what's more important to me is that now we know that this game has no problem copying creatures from movie sources I think it's high-time they get around to giving us a "Killer Rabbit" pet from Monty Python's The Holy Grail.

Quote:There is a distinct difference between one having a lack of interest in something and one feeling like they "have" to purchase something. Your waste of bandwidth is another person's fun character idea.$5 for an idle, toggled waste of bandwidth is more of a cash grab than $10 for a powerset IMO.
To each their own. -
Personally, I'm also in the camp that has no use for vanity pets. I've never been one for the Pokemon approach to in game pets, but that's my personal preference. Perhaps I'm privileged in the fact that I can see that there is a significant portion of our Community who is excited by vanity pets and show us so. It may not be good for me, but it's good for other people who really enjoy this type of content.

Pretty sure a couple of months is overkill if all you're waiting for is Staff .

What a lively morning!
We're extremely happy and flattered that so many of you are so excited for Staff Fighting. While I know many of you are upset that it's not released now, we also have to be responsible with the cadence of releases on the Paragon Market.
What do I mean by that?- We do not want to release Powersets on top of each other. There needs to be separation between the releases of new toys so that people who are excited by them all, which is much of our Community, have time to play with each.
- If we release too many Powersets too quickly, it could be seen as a grab at your Paragon Points, and subsequently, your money. While we certainly appreciate you buying Paragon Points, we also have to be responsible with how we encourage you to spend with us.
- We have to balance perception. There has been a perception we've been focusing on melee Powersets recently. Real or not, these sentiments need to be taken into account.
- Various other reasons.
Again, we're extremely flattered and grateful for the excitement being shown about Staff Fighting. Take comfort in the fact that your stick waving itch should be scratched Very Soon™. -
Guys, it's Monday. I'm usually in meetings almost all of Monday, and I had many other things to attend to today.
Here's the images I shared on Ustream awhile back:
Helm of Tartarus:
Helm of Zues
The aspect of the Well (AKA: the Well-a-mental)
Note, these aren't the images being provided by marketing, nor is this the full list of what's being included. This is just my terrible attempts at hasty screenshots.
At this point, we anticipate that these will start showing up on your account later this month, in much the same fashion as last years distribution.
