Ignoring everyone and their monkey being an arrogant, rude sod because people happen to disagree (yes, that works both ways), that does seem a little steep to me.
Having the option is nice, yes. But I woulda thought either all the components and, say, a couple of million OR a couple of mil and 40 shards would have been enough.
100 mil + shards AND components? Thats a tad steep, and a little unrealistic time wise.
Yes, I get there is 'encouraging'. Usually the devs are very good at that. This on the other hand smells like they let certain people off the boards design it, as an excercise in how big an eMiddle Finger they could make... And I don't approve of that. -
Quote:Hmmm...I wonder if that one comes preinstalled with the "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn." app.I thought ALL Macs were already running that, not as an app but as a whole system?Quote:If you want I can PM you with some info. My pop works for Apple (and not just at a store; System Engineer!) and I can get you all the skinny you need for a good rig.
The desktop might as well have tentacles coming out of it, the ammount of evil is in those things... ¬¬
Zwill, don't do it to yourself, man! Seriously! Get a nice desktop! -

Quote:^ This chunk especially. Scalability and losing the snarl is a really big 'Do Want'. I HATE being stuck in this permanant rictus snarl on a character that is meant to be a hero ><I wish all of these heads (and the Monstrous ones too!) responded to the head/face bone-structure - currently, you can only adjust scale, slightly. I want to control eye-size and position (slightly) with the sliders - like you can with the regular human faces and helmet parts and other accessories. I want to resize 'Cranium' to make room in these heads for 'super genius' brains. I want to resize and reshape these faces to create my own custom look, distinct (at least partially) from the look of other players.
And why are ALL of these animals (except the birds) Snarling Viciously? Are they going to save the citizens, or Eat them?
I actually LIKE some of the monstrous heads more than these, but only Beast #5 has anything like a benign expression. Showing the teeth is a Nervous Threat gesture, not a preparation to attack or work.
Aren't these supposed to the faces of Heroes?? Are these actually the best the Devs can do, or are they just a throw-away gesture, designed to shut us up? I don't mind paying for this - Yes, I probably WILL buy it, but I'd really like to see just a little more expertise, professionalism, and consideration for the intended application. -

Actually...

DOs and SOs still bug me, however slightly. Not being able to use drops because their the wrong origin, all the way up to 50...
Heck, it might even make them revamp the lower level fail-dross that are laughingly called 'starter contacts' -
Quote:Not being a jerk, jut mis-reading when I'm being upsetTech, not trying to be a jerk, but don't get so upset. This should just be a discussion.
Do you have any data that shows that the majority of the player base is against origins being given a more prominent role in the game?
Do you have evidence the devs dont?
So far a pretty sizeable group seems to exist on either side, with the vast majorty on both -agreeing- that the role shouldn't be game changing or penalize previous choices. The disagreement seems to be primarily how/if that could be achieved.
And given that the devs -originally- did have origins playing a bigger role, can we say for sure they wouldn't LIKE to find a way to make them more prominent and still have us all happy?
Trust me, you'd KNOW if you'd upset me...

Is that the Freedom Phalanx boat that States stands on? Or a new one?
Either way, it's about damn time! Loving the more realistic look, I wish it would apply to a lot of the firearms in game, some more of the choppers (like the Hind-a-like in Roy Coolings arc, which looked epic) and stuff. -
Quote:Second Point is pointless, considering the stance on the First Point is 'The Devs do not want to change origins, and are happy with them as they are now. Most of the playerbase is too.'I think you've missed my point... again. Which as an observation is indeed "pointless".

First Point: If the developers wanted to, and they took the time and devoted the resources, I'm pretty sure they could make whatever changes they want to, to the game.
Second Point: If they did make said changes to the game they'd make sure the game functioned and was playable--obviously the game would shut down if they didn't.
I think I'm done here, really. -
Quote:Your also ignoring that, in I20;WRONG. The whole idea is to socialize with other real, live people. That does not mean teaming should be the only way to progress your character beyond any arbitrary point (Alpha Uncommon, in this case) or that you should have an artificial speed penalty (lowered shard drop rate, no way to get Notices without TF/SFs, at least for now, or having to craft purely from those artificially rarer sub-components) imposed on you for not preferring large team or horde content.
1) You can craft Notices from Shards. No more need to do WST
2) Shards will drop from stuff OTHER than level 50 mobs
3) Shards all suffer from the RNG, with the rarity of yellow recipes. They could be much, much worse.
However, you've now convinced me that your someone who wants to have the cake and eat it too. So, y'know, good luck with that. The rest of us will be happy there is a solo available option and be getting on with it. -
Yes...that's because he is ONLY talking about the BAF Trial. It's a 'Sneak Peek'. Maybe that suggests, y'know...that just maybe this isn't everything in I20? Hmm?

Quote:You're telling me things I already know, palBut Masterminds are ever so well loved for Barracuda!
I just wish we could find a better way for control to work against hard targets (AVs, GMs, PToD EBs, etc.). Having your primary shut down is no fun for anyone.
Try using an MM against any AV with heavy AoE capability, and you start cursing MM set up time and whatever cuss programmed the A.I. very, very swiftly

Quote:This is why I really, really hope they either; And just to prove I'm not here to disrupt, here's a remake of that "tech werewolf" people were suggesting in the Costume Request thread, now with an actual wolf head:

1) Give us bigger feet options like that on the normal models
OR
2) Make the wolf head bigger on the huge model. Because right now it looks derpy. -

Quote:No. However, I do object to it being deliberately made slower - it screams of "Do our large-team/horde content and leap forward, or else crawl to the finish and be glad we let you play at all."Well, you can look at it that way...Quote:Right. Soloer's won't experience the new content. They will just pick up crumbs as they go along. It didn't matter so much with Task Force content because at all levels there were great story-arcs to play. But what they're doing here is a blatant case of trying to STRONGLY encourage people to do raids. In fact, a friend of mine says that's what's wrong with CoH, is that there aren't enough RAIDS! But I personally have no interest in raids.
Or you can see it as soloists getting the stardard rate...and teams getting an acceleerated rate due to more people partaking? Like, I dunno, every other bit of content in game since I0?
Or you can keep on being kvetching little cusses who want it all now, on a silver platter, and team players penalised for daring to have shiny things.
(Again, I was arguing FOR a solo option in every thread it came up. There now is one. And you now want it to be FASTER than teaming? Sorry but, frankly; get real.)
In CoX, so long as you fulfill the one baseline (Incarnate Enabled) you can join. -
Quote:Uh...hardly. Sure, crafting it via shards will be slower...but do you honestly expect soloing to be faster than a teaming option? And, bear in mind, this is me talking as someone who was fighting tooth and claw for a solo option in earlier threads.Yes, it is, despite the assurances that soloers/small-teamers will be able to build the components via shards. Remember: we don't matter - only those who like large-team/horde content. Anything we get will be a mere afterthought.
If this WAS as bad as That Fantasy MMO, then there would be NO option for solo-ers. You would have no option at all, and the standard would response would be "Yeah, suck it, we have 6million OTHEr subscribers. So, no, you dont matter."
If you seriously think the same is true here...all I can say is you have a very stranger perception issue, IMO. -
-
Quote:No, you won't.Nothing I saw in this announcement was solo-friendly. It sounds like I'm going to have to be willing to be whisked into a bunch of strangers and then stand around being told what I'm supposed to do, and then have to do it juuuuuuusssst right or the whole thing will be a waste of time...

Quote:About That Accessibility Thing
For our more casual players, we have added an option for you to continue to build your way up the Incarnate Tree by collecting Incarnate Shards without doing any Incarnate Trials--you will even get Incarnate Shards when you are exemplared down. It will take longer than it will take by participating in Incarnate Trials, and youll miss out on some epic storylines, but you will be able to claim your seat at the Incarnate table nevertheless. -
Quote:Bull-****Weakened Hamidon ends in a tank n' spank.
Mr. I Am Nictus ends in a tank n' spank (although a quick one).
Recluse ends in a tank and spank (with adds) and it often takes longer than Reischman because he's locked at 54 which lowers damage to about half.
I personally found the STF finale a helluva lot more do-able AND fun while still being a challenge than the ball of Cheat and Hax that is the last Cuda mish. No stupid, endless waves of super-sight homing Nazis, no AV that is perma-'I have my own Class' mode.
Beating up Recluse and Co is fun because it envolves (for me anyway) tactics and teamwork. Single out the Patrons and kick them to the curb, avoiding their nasty tricks. Deal with the flier. Then managed Recluse while destroying his boosters. When he's down to normal status, curb stomp him.
Or you can, y'know, Leeroy them. It's a valid tactic, if your pumped up enough.
Rommy can be as complex or as simple as you like. You can simply Leeroy him, or you can try and pull his Nictus away, you can seperate certain Nictus...hell, you can even do what we did one run (albeit by accident) and kill him out of LoS of his minions, thus meaning he doesnt respawn, and then pick of the Nictus one by one.
Reichs? You have to you the temps. You cannot avoid the ambushes. They will see through stealth, hunt you to the entrance door, and spawn on top of you in the tunnels.
And there is NOTHING that stops Reichs from being a big, fat, hard hitting sack of HP. -

And your still conveniently ignoring the fact that the Devs have said, recently, that they have no intention of even looking at changing how Origins work, because of how much hassle it was cause them, players, and the guys who work coding.
Ergo, this isn't in the same vein as "We'd like to but it's time/coding/money/whatever the boss says."
This is "No, it's WAI and it's not going to change." -
Quote:Galaxy is fine layout wise as it is. It just suffers the same as Atlas in that no one in their right mind would bother doing the lowibe arcs as they are because; It's a valid point to say there are a number of blueside zones that are already underutilized. Maybe as a compromise they could rework one of the old zones in question (like Boomtown or Galaxy City) by adding an airport section to it. This way an old zone could be updated with the new "global mission" idea Wooden_Replica talked about. I actually like Galaxy City for this now that I think about it - replacing that whole southern warehouse area with a globe-trotting airport might make GC a more useful "hub" zone like AP and TI are.
Two birds, one stone.
1) They suck. They really, really suck.
2) You can get from 1-6 by street sweeping in about 1/3 the time it takes to run back and forth to the stupid missions the starting contacts give you.
