Congratulations, everyone. Well done. <salute>
-
Just a reminder. October 8th through the 11th.
- If you work, take a mental stress day or two.
- If you're someone's CoX employer... well, hi there.
- If you're involved with another so-called "RL" person, purchase a second account or lock the door.
-If they start pounding on said door and insist on asking what you're doing in there for four days, tell them to go away because you're busy going blind. This will ensure that person, if they have no interest in gaming, sha'nt bother your sleep Monday. Or ever.
- If you have names and concepts set aside, create them Wednesday. Nobody wants to crash because fifteen people spent seventeen hours tweaking costumes for "Nether Bunnies".
- If you're an AE baby, please use this > http://www.vidiotmaps.com/maps.php . Also, PI is Peregrine Island, not Port Independence. -
Quote:Difference in the classification of a t'matoh, I suppose. It's a PvP zone.Being left alone is the real trick, isn't it? I read through the Paragon Wiki about Warburg. Said that it's famous for groups of griefing player-killing campers. O_o
While we did escort participants who asked, even specialized community events such as our nuke raid should not supercede or pass judgement on the activity in there.
On a seperate note. Sandy always cracks me up. Whenever there's a huge or wildly different event, there's our cosmos juggler spitting out mystical code. Bending space and plying time as easily as a deck of playing cards. If Sandy crunched out a theory, you can be certain it'll be on store shelves in days.
You know what Sandy reminds me of? Those nice folks in the BSG bathtubs. Hybrids. That's it. =P
I'd say, "here's to you babe" but if there's a hiccup we're going back to shelved project 76-A29. Shave 7 minutes off the 9. Team recall up front and personal. Oh yeah. -
Hotdog. -Four- days.
I have four level 45+ heroes. They've all reached Tina and will be running SG groups but if everyone falls asleep at some point, I'll definitely seek you out.
<gets her lil peas bowl 'n spoon ready> -
Quote:How many have you calculated that at? I'm sure if you list a heads up or sign up for the core group, you'll meet the number. Be shame to have the zone fill with too many of everything but.Exactly, tho Robokitty is handling the tactics, pre mito bloom there will be a call for buffs, tanks will have yellows pre mapped and taunt them while we finish the job. The only specific AT's we will need will be the right quantities of tanks and buffs and no leechers. It will of course depend on what shows up however.
Quote:There is a plan in mind, I was asked to post on the forums to announce the event. I'll ask Robokitty to address concerns on the forums, if not I know she will reveal her detailed master plan out prior to spawning hami -
Wow, welcome back. There are a ton of great groups listed in the sticky thread above to browse through. Detailed info on game-style and group doctrine.
..
This is good too:
In game, typing /Help now brings up a mini-directory of basic information.
Doubt you need that as much as the peer Help Channel, which is now accessed by typing the initials. /HC, "insert your question for other players to answer here."
Also, some space-cat ninja gnome wizards have channeled their energies into publishing a book of wonders online. It's beautiful and made me weep. Link here > http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page . -
Badge as you go. Have fun. Prepare your lils. Respect PvP zones.
- If you're running the arcs and task forces as they're made available by level and picking up exploration/historical plaques when your new character first encounters a different zone, it's a breeze to pick up badges without thinking about it. Then, all those "Defeat X" badges not obtained by the time your character is level 50 are easier to finish off with AOE's.
- Have fun with the Defeat X badges: go in teams with friends and run in-character (500 DE Emanitors make for a great field study, collecting samples of local flora). Same with mini-events such as Fire Alarms in Steel Canyon. 100 fires never feels grindy when you're knocking about with light-hearted conversation in broadcast about selling cheap property at that location.
- So, there's one ultra anal thing I do. Each of my new characters (lils.. little ones) is e-mailed a checklist of badges which apply to the accolades that award powers or boost numbers. So I will pay extra attention when a specific level or contact/story arc is coming up. Part of my "badge as you go" motto.
- I've seen too many people lose their **** over badges in PvP zones. Have your head about you in advance. 1. Use /hide. I have friends who will switch sides and bee-line to a zone if they conduct a /sea and see strange names mucking about. 2. Do not announce yourself in broadcast. Saying things like "I'm just here to badge." paints a bright neon bullseye on your bootie. 3. Take a team of 8. Generally 6 badgers who conduct their business quickly and 2 friendly PvP escorts who can keep hostiles at bay is sufficient. 4. Go in at odd hours. Generally, if you respect the fact that it's a PvP zone.. that people are there for things other than badges, you'll do fine. -
Nope.
Between everything you mentioned and: our SG and all the hands-on joy that entails, going crazy with our VG base edits (we're making a mafia princess luxury hotel), crunching everything I have to say in 1K characters or less (prefer mini-origin stories rather than stats in my bios and will tweak that as much as a build), occasionally setting up an event, attending Virtue's weekly events, etc.... it's like a set of mini-games for me. I never get bored; I only get bored of one thing at a time.
Also, rabidly dashing off to fire alarms, superdine raids, and the like. GM's have merits. Alarms have a bucket of silly broadcast fun. -
Good times. I'll sift through my costumes or wear one of Sandy's. <winks at Wrecking Belle>
-
Curious, since I've never seen Justice post strategy. Is it a variation of Virtue's evac-free nuke raid? Added measures like map-tacking the lemon mitos for the new spawn? I was chatting with Sandy and Andra the other day and wondered if you were going to substitute RA's for nukes.. calling a closer gather next to the big guy and casting right before the next spawn of mitos.
If so, and crunching numbers on how many would be needed, are you looking for sign ups of specific ATs or powersets-holding heroes? -
Correct, only the amount earned matters. So, those bonuses received on a few DXP weekends for the number of members listed in your roster do not apply (it was something like 20K per member).
But now I'm confused about something. We have several chapters, one of which isn't generating prestige (where we house our level 50 badgers as we'd rather earn influence), but would still like to obtain the D3. I must have been dreaming because I could have sworn there was a progress bar on it just last week.. and today, none. Checked and double checked.
Was I imagining things? Because aside from a progress bar, there would be no way of checking. Registrars office includes bonus prestige granted and editor is less rent and items placed.
All the others have passed 10M by far so there's no way for me to compare. Someone lemme know before I swallow another retainer. Thanks.
Edit/addition:
<rereads thread carefully as opposed to my usual general skimming practice>
Quote:Now I am confused. Is it possible that there are progress bars for D1 and D2 but not D3?I can tell you that the Prestige badges are in the Achievement Category when I am viewing SG badges on my main SGs, and that my smaller "throw-away" groups DO have a progress bar there as well. -
I have faith that Virtue's current identity will remain. That being said, would be nice to create, attend, and support more community events. The holidays are around the corner. Best time of year.
-
A random thought just came to me. I guess folks finally took the "<------ Virtue" auto-response seriously.
-
Forget Captain Morgan, everyone's got a lil Paladin in 'em.
-
Quote:We take your word for it because it's a game and we're all big kids at heart. Comaraderie, ain't it great.Quick question: before bragging about breaking into the club, do I need to get HeroStats working first? Or will a screenshot suffice?
..cuz i've tried using HS and it slows my system to a crawl >_>
That being said - Congratulations! Here's your bronze imp.
(P.S. I posted a small screenie because I'm a badge-nerd. ) -
Quote:I spit out my Cheerios laughing so hard. Thank you, Flea. Thou art wonderful.I hope they all become ERPers myself.
What other server could have an entire Task Force busy afk?
Anyhaps.. y'know, I was noticing that myself. A few times, I've logged in to see Virtue at two lemondrops and Freedom at one green lime. And every morning during my Wentworths rounds, I meet someone new. This week: refugee from Freedom, a gent who had just purchased the game 2 hours prior, and a slew of returning CoX players.
I should take better note of "why" next time. Come to think of it, since most folks don't venture into forums, we should make "Welcome to Virtue" form letters (in game emails). Address to Paragon Wiki & Vidiotmaps for new players (babysteps)... names/purpose to the most useful public channels and event dates/times (Mothership Mondays, Hami raids) for experienced returning players. Not to spam, just to offer so they can carry it on hand. -
A friend of mine invited me to the D and said "Take this. <invite> Stand there. <click>" I did.. and was arrested 14 days later.
Oh you mean the badge? Pretty much the same way. A hero had teamed with me inside the D.
Excited. Just added a Master badge and adding 4 more in 10 days. I know some folks will tease but it's one of several mini-games for me. Organizing events, base building, writing rambling nonsensical memoirs per character which most no one will ever see, that darn new site I procrastinate on, etc. I look forward to what Going Rogue offers. -
Just received the following in-game message (/gmotd)
Quote:Considering that Master of Barracuda is not awarding (as of last night), it would be nice to see that information added as well so folks who don't read forums won't plan for the very little spare time they do have.Issues with the Ernesto Hess and Katie Hannon Task Forces Greetings Heroes and Villains! The Ernesto Hess and Katie Hannon Task Forces currently have bugs that may prevent heroes from completing them. We will provide an update when those issues have been addressed. We appreciate that this is an inconvenience and thank you for your patience with this matter!
Two of my coleaders ran this successfully last week and last night. One has a difficult work schedule and the other has a new baby.. it can be fustrating finding time, getting through, not being awarded, and then having CS send an arbitrary answer (some teams are awarded .. some are not) or no response at all. I'm pretty sure they would have invested their time elsewhere had they known. -
Quote:It's great for TF/SF teams though. Just have to know the strength of each major public channel.
Now I know where to point the other poor fools who try fishing for a team in VU2009. Thanks! -
Virtue LFG Alpha (looking for group) is a public channel. It was once simply Virtue LFG.
Alpha has around 1400+ members and is active. I just saw folks chatting there.
Edit/Add:
Seconds ago.. "[Virtue LFG Alpha]C******r: Anything going on? lv49 Corr need XP "
So yeah. It's alive! <runs for the hills> -
Congratulations, Artful Dodgers! <withholds her usual "You kidz get off mah lawn!" rant>
-
Invest in starting that team regardless of what you see live in the /sea. If you send out signals in a few good globals, people will -switch- to join you.

Virtue LFG Alpha
etc.. -
Neat. I didn't know that.
And... hot.. dog. Why I'm up now. My corr finally broke into the 600 club! That and I can't sleep. Just fiinished last disc on BSG 4.5.
