In an unrelated matter, clock towers are fun. We need more in this game, in my opinion.
We were told in Positron's annual address back in.. march? April? That 24 is the Praetorian wrap up (For now. They've at least left it open for them to return if they want to). From 25 on we'll be starting up the Battalion storyline

I'm aware, which is why I suggested that as an option. But the upside down building and floating warwalker suggest it could be otherwise too. They ARE in the flight poses. But it might not be because they're -using- flight powers.
  3. Another question, none of these characters have flight trails, that is, the tell tale 'jets' hover and fly produce.

Is that because they're just using min. fx on the flight powers? Or something else? We do have an upside down building there, and a war walker in mid air. Maybe 'gravity' doesn't work as normal here?

If that really is what he meant, then twisting the language like that is about as far from "brutal honesty" as you can get.

As much as I do feel there's something screwy somewhere, I don't think Zwill's the type of guy to do that.
Dev speak is analogous to legalese.
  5. Well they've said there will be more ways to earn AiXP in the future. And it just wouldn't make sense for it to be the only source ever (Especially since it's very likely the next slot in the tree will be using it. Whatever is above Hybrid).

  7. You know I was only joking about 'Penny Ward'. I'm going to laugh if that was correct.

Now. Is this a zone? An instance?

and why is that War Walker just floating in the background? or those mysterious lights/puffs of smoke?

I don't believe it was strictly said to be i24, but it was basically 'I'd like to do it now but it'll have to wait til next issue'. And the discussion was... severely lengthy >>

Also, do you legit believe three insignificant Praetorians that have next to nothing to do with Paragon City, or even Primal Earth, would even be considered as an option to replace Ms. Liberty as the first face people see when creating a new character?
Yes. They're pretty impressive looking and that's going to stick with newbies more than who they are in the general scheme of things or who they replaced.
  9. Actually, I24 has always been when Ms Liberty was supposed to move. The reason she wasn't taken out when she took over the STF in I23 is because there are several missions that point to Ms Liberty. The devs didn't want to mess up anything so she took over the STF instead of Brawler while remaining the forefront Atlas trainer. but we were told they'd be switching it up in I24, which is why it wouldn't be out of the question if the 3 praetorians end up taking her spot.
  10. It's possible! both Aurora and Pendragon have featured in the latest story stuff, so it could very well be a hint that they're going to feature in the issue's story prominently.

Heck it could be a teaser for the incarnate content, like a new story arc being included will center around the three of them. This issue is Praetoria's swan song for the time being so wrapping up what's going up with more Praetors wouldn't be a bad idea.
  11. I'm just having fun at this point, but I'm done. Honestly, just looking forward to I24 and I don't even know everything going into it yet. If this change is what it -looks- like, I think it's pretty awesome. I think the trio looks epic and being the first thing you see when your new hero pops into Atlas Park to help is pretty wicked. Ms Lib has been pretty iconic but she really pales in comparison to just how neat these guys look (and honestly could probably do with having her appearance updated, along with the rest of the Phallanx).

I just think it's funny what people will complain over. I say just roll with it and enjoy the experience

Yes, you get the badge if you auto complete it. I've done so on 2 characters thus far (1 was the first run, testing out the error. the other didn't even attempt the mission). My 3rd incarnate, I actually took the LONG SLOW SLOG of doing it with just the ST attacks.

Seriously, fix this mission devs. Cut the mobs in half and nix the ambushes. Even if that's not the cause of the mapserving it'll at LEAST speed up doing this mission. it's really awesome, but this bug leaves it dead in the water.

For example, Statesman and Sister Psyche die on 40-50 arcs, but Penny Yin gives out her TF in the 20-25 range - and SSA 2 actually takes place in the 35-50 range, making it quite possible for someone to play through the whole 2nd SSA before they reach the right level to experience the death of Statesman and Sister Psyche, even though SSA 2 has several references to their deaths.
The SSAs are more like snapshots of key moments in the history of the game world that follow their own episode timeline without being integrated into the standard 1-50 leveling path.
I didn't say Who Will Die is 'now', I said Statesman's death is 'now', it's happened and has affected everything else so everything else is 'now' in regards to the character death, just like everything is 'now' in regards to Galaxy City, even though several arcs predate these events.

Mhm true! Wibbly wobbly timey wimey. But like Statesman's death and galaxy city's destruction being 'now'. Some stuff follows leveling, some stuff follows 'then' and 'now'.

So you agree! New content is modern. So Marauder in Atlas is 'now' and Marauder in Maria Jenkins or the Trials is 'then' because it's older content.

I knew you'd key in eventually. Good boy

Not seeing how that relates to the quote you pulled from Positron about Incarnate content being endless.

Actually I'm a paying customer and I expect the product I'm buying to have some semblance of quality. Would you buy a hamburger that had only half a patty?
Oh the hyperbole phase! I love this. It's so cute. Are you going to say that the 'timeline' as it stands is a slap in the face? Please do, oh please. Or threaten to quit. The devs clearly aren't delivering the excessive work you consider necessary to deliver it. your 15$ a month entitles you to their blood sweat and tears damnit. Damn the cost! We have to revamp everything!

Again, I'm sorry it's so terrible how they're going about it and how it just breaks the experience for you. But really, it's not going to change soon, Paragon is not a big team and it's a pretty old game and it'd take a major effort to overhaul just so you don't have to deal with having to differentiate for yourself what's 'then' and 'now'.

    Got to wait and see.
part of the problem there is how limited CoH's phasing tech is. Sure, Atlas Park could work it. but most other zones can't, as we've been told a lot of 'zone events' would interfere with zone phasing.
  22. Pretty sure we'll never get an incarnate power that will do any kind of adding slots to our power sets. They tried just doing that with the normal leveling, broke everything.

So, fun concept. but if they could give us an incarnate slot that added a power we could get extra slots to, they could probably just give us extra slots to begin with. So atm, prolly not happening.

Honestly given the options we have in game now, an 'incarnate travel power' just doesn't seem worthwhile.

...not sure what the point of this tangent is. Are you just pulling things out of the air now?

And he was talking about the implementation, not literally 'it is endless', though it would take a -lot- of time to get all the components needed to fill up T4s in every category/slot. And they're still kicking out content, Emperor's Sword takes place after Dark Astoria/Dilemma Diabolique and before the Magisterium Trial.

Ok, you fund them, get them more staff so they can spend the time developing massive game wide revamps just to accommodate a strict 1-50 timeline.

they are updating things and bringing them into line with the 'modern' story but it takes time. The free to play model means they have to keep putting out content, which means story pushes forward and we get the patchwork method. Sorry if it doesn't grok for you, but beggars can't really be choosers.
