This is one of those myths that refuses to die, isn't it? M30 Grenade's knockback is, for all intents and purposes, IDENTICAL to Buckshot. It doesn't have some voodoo extra coding that makes it abnormal from any of the other targeted AoE powers with knockback. Every bit of it is perception due to said knockback not being guaranteed.
[/ QUOTE ]
But that perception is correct when it comes to spreading out mobs. If you have half a spawn where they were initially and the other half 15 feet back you have spread out spawn. -

Since this is the set that's supposed to complement Assault Rifle (since it, like, uses the assault rifle for its attacks, and is the only one that doesn't cause redraw as a result), why did they give it an inconsistent and therefore non-stacking mez type? Cryo Freeze Ray should have been a disorient to stack with beanbag

Executive summary: Castle hates stuns and thinks there are too many of them.
Possible other reason ? Devices has that silly taser. -

And if they ever decide to stick a knife in what you enjoy about the game it will happen with you

Sure, I'd move on but I'm not going to turn that exodus into 'look-at-me-i'm-reallllly-angry-i'm-gonna-quit' tirade all over the boards.
I don't mind arguing a point every once in awhile, but I'm not cut out to act like a drama queen.

Darth was wrong this is the real comedy gem.
Someone feels the need to go about bashing how other people play and then says they "I'm not cut out to act like a drama queen." -

I would just assume a villain going rogue would just not have any Patron Powers. A drawback to switching sides.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wonder if you can't get patron powers did they create new APP power pools for each one of the archetypes and new Patron powers for all the hero archetypes ?
I feel sorry for Castle if they laid that kind of work on him. -

I am a bit torn right now between making a defender and a blaster. Right now the character I am planning on making is a kid who's powers manifested as a teen and killed his girlfriend, making him run to a monastery where he learned to control his powers.
I am torn because I'm concerned about how difficult playing as a blaster is. Reading through the guides I see that blasters tend to die a lot and I don't like dieing Is being a blaster really that tough or is their lack of durability exaggerated. Thanks in advance for the advice
[/ QUOTE ]
Blasters are a bit more consistent with your backstory after all who would believe a defender accidentally killed anything ??
(I Kid I kid, dont want a lot of upset defenders like the insp vs defenders thread caused) -
G'luck on getting the devs to engage on dialog on this one.
PVP got flushed in I13 and my guess is going rogue and working the kinks from MA is going to consume all their time till after I17 -

"masterpieces of arc-ish literature"
[/ QUOTE ]
Well on that score give a shout when there are any. For me the whole contact hologram in front of a big green pillar of data spoils the chance to reach even the low bar the game already has.
As to your list.
[ QUOTE ]
sending me tells asking me to fill
[/ QUOTE ]
Most farmers don't like asking for fills. Its a pain for us as well. Unfortunately we are forced to.
[ QUOTE ]
broadcasting in lower level zones for farmers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Never saw that till MA and it was probably the 4H club or Future farmers of america at work.
[ QUOTE ]
spamming on broadcast for farm teams or more farmers in any zone
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is akin to spamming LFT, task force forming, giant monster team or any other spamming. If you are going to hate farmers because of that you have way too many people on your hate list.
[ QUOTE ]
blind inviting to farm teams and then being suddenly dropped once the maps have been set - without a word or tell from the inviter
[/ QUOTE ]
Just rude, but it goes back to the first point. People are dealing with a lack of a feature in the game.
[ QUOTE ]
being invited to team, almost completing a mission, and "being told don't get that last X, we are farming this mission
[/ QUOTE ]
Why does that bother you ?
[ QUOTE ]
being invited to a team, arriving at the mission, zoning in, and then being told it's a farming mission
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't ask what people are doing before you accept an invite ?? I have a psi/ment blaster boy that cured me of not checking if there were robots or carnies involved.
[ QUOTE ]
farming tending to go hand-in-hand with PL'ing
[/ QUOTE ]
Unh hunh. Well I have never charged to power level anyone what you can charge doesn't compare to what you lose by bringing deadweight along. So its either a favor to a friend or helping someone out who needs to get past the awkward levels or a dead spot.
I don't get the prejudice against it. Its no different than sking on a large team. -
[ QUOTE ]
If your arc gives VASTLY more rewards than a normal mission arc would;
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem is what is vastly ?? The most you could hold was 10K. Pohsyb had said there was a built in cap to prevent excessive reward.
Just who is defining vastly here ? -
[ QUOTE ]
C'mon. If you thought you were "supposed" to be able to level that fast with basically no risk, you were delusional.
[/ QUOTE ]
The comm officers ? I have seen very high speed leveling on freak and other farms. You would expect the comms to go even faster as there would be a full team of 8 working the map instead of 1 or 2 working the map and the rest sitting back
[ QUOTE ]
And has Positron banned you yet? Has he deleted any of your characters? De-leveled any? How about your friends? Any of them get hit yet? No? How about any person you've interacted with in the game? Not a single one? Oh, wow. Then maybe just maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe you're all over reacting.

Software maintenance is a fact of life. Every time software is changed, someone should run a regression test to make sure that things are still working the way they should be. NCSoft isn't going to run regression tests on our missions, so we're going to have to do that ourselves. Yeah, it sucks. Welcome to software development!
[/ QUOTE ]
Uhm... what numbers are you running the regression on, exactly? I don't follow the logic on this one.
I do think you need to RUN (as in, play) your missions after changes to make sure they still work, but that's not really a statistical analysis.

Regression testing is a software engineering technique distinct from regression analysis the statistical technique -

A thing that many people haven't brought up is the fact that characters may be starting over at level 1 if they change sides.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to be mean, but have you actually read the thread?
[/ QUOTE ]
It seems to defy common sense somewhat for a crossover toon to start again at level 1. That is no different to starting a new toon with the same name (which can pretty much be done now by adding a full-stop or something to your name).
That said, I now suspect that dual builds were introduced into the game as a precursor to Going Rouge. That could be how they handle EPPs and Patron powers.
As an aside, if the Praetorian Market is in the mirror universe, doesn't that mean it is a place where salvage is sold for a low, stable price, marketeers are poor and casual players are fully purpled out? With goatees?
[/ QUOTE ]
In the praetorian universe flippers dont raise prices -
Lrm very very nice if you have a crashing nuke set. If you have AR or Arch don't bother.
Body Armor, autopower non supressing otherwise very blah.
Surveilance very nice for EB or better also good to look under the hood.
Sleep grenade: Place holder for a purple sleep set
Freeze ray: very nice if you have no controls in your sets. -

Ma was nerfed again today. Now tickets are limited to 1500 per mish no mater what. Personally I think this is terrible and I won't be AE'ng it anymore unless it's a friend who wants me to check out their arc. No recipes, no salvage and now tiny ticket amounts have gone to far attempting to stop farming.
[/ QUOTE ]
Haha, "tiny ticket amounts"? Seriously?
A whole outdoor map of stock mobs, spawned on diff 4, might get up to 600 solo, including both defeats and mission bonus.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know of many maps that would give 3k tickets spawned for 1 on diff 5. -
[ QUOTE ]
I agree, they could let it work that way. I think it would be a PR disaster. Not that I agree with this at all, but can you imagine the uproar about people who pay for the expansion having that advantage over the "casual players" who don't/can't?
[/ QUOTE ]
Mission teleporter, self destruct, Fortunes, Vet Attack powers ?
I don't see them having problems with letting people buy or gain indirectly through patronage significant in game advantages.
As to a forum blow up, some people will be upset on principle but most forumites are going to be buying the pack and looking forward to getting one up. -
[ QUOTE ]
I meant, even if it is done poorly, if what they are doing is allowing characters to switch sides, then it won't divide the playerbase.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well if all they are doing is allowing side switching through say a moderate sized coop zone how will that require a market merge ?
If anything its an exceptional perk for people to buy the expansion. They can play smugglers between redside and blueside and make bundles of inf exploiting market imbalances. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, some friends were theorizing that version of it. It makes sense from several angles.
1) No seeing known "villain" characters on the streets of Steel Canyon, etc.
2) Potentially reduced need to balance ATs for permenant co-mingling - the "other world" could have slightly different rules. (Yes, you can mingle now, but there are people who, for example, would never touch a Tanker again if they could roll a Brute in CoH.)
3) Done a certain way, no market mingling worries, though this would take some impressive roleplaying justification if Praetorea didn't have it's own distinct markets, which would suck.
However, I question whether CoH has the population to manage this. This approach, as I envision it, would effectively partition the game into those playing the expansion and those not. This strikes me as likely to offer a ridiculously small population of expansion players while damaging the already small primary game population.
Because of this, I very, very much hope this is not the approach they take.
Now if they aren't taking this approach, I do wonder how they'd keep the markets "pure". They'd have to strip you of inventory whenever you switched sides, which seems rather draconian.

If its a paid for expansion its going to segregate the community no matter what. -

Praetorian Market!
Using new Praetorian Influence, players can acquire and trade new items by using the trade interface or the new Praetorian Market.
Exchange centers will convert your influence or infamy into Praetorian Influence, at a cost.

How can Regent be copyrighted? It's a word that basicly means "King's advisor". That's like saying Captain is copyrighted.

You can't use the word "thing" in a title. Like "Little green thing" as an objective. Or "Strange Thing" as a destructible object.
Marvel owns the English language, didn't you know?

[ QUOTE ]
All missions do give recipes and salvage. It's just that the non-dev choice AE missions give them in the form of tickets. Players can decide for themselves how they want to convert the tickets into salvage and recipes. If players are choosing to generate more recipes than salvage, why shouldn't they? When so many recipes have dropped from ten million inf to one million inf, why care about a piece of salvage going for 200k? Besides, the last 5 prices on Runebound armor right now go from 1,506 to 3,000 inf, blueside. Redside they're even cheaper. Just because something takes a momentary spike to 200k doesn't mean you have to play along. It's amazing what 24 hours of patience can do for you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Price volatility on common and uncommon salvage has gone off the chart. On the flipside rares are way down in both price and volatility. -
[ QUOTE ]
realistically all mishes should give recipes/salvage it would help the market stablize a bit more. i mean unless ppl like spending 200000 for a runebound armor.

I don't know about people buying but I sure enjoy the selling.
