Don't drink if you know you're depressed. That is most DEFINITELY not the answer. Believe me I've been there.
*hugs for squirrel* well we love ya anyways

Even worse if your on medication. -
That only works if the receipient understands that it's in playful jest and not a serious insult. My friends never knew that I didn't understand that they were joking. I didn't understand the concept at the time. I didn't even understand that I didn't understand.

Hopefully Mist you are close enough to places and people where you can enjoy those types of activities that you enjoy. I'm currently stuck in a city that has very little in the way of the sorts of things I enjoy. I would move to Vancouver if I could afford to, but things are too expensive there for someone living off of a disability pension. Anyway, just trying to relate some of my personal experiences to the conversation. I don't want anyone to think that I'm just talking about me, because I know I give off that impression far too often.
Anyway, I agree you should just get out and do the things you love doing, but try doing them in a group setting. Just be yourself and have fun. Trying to fit in and trying to be someone your not to attract people who probably wouldn't like the real you is not the way to go. Just be yourself and have fun and when people see that then they are more likely to want to join in. -
Another good series of books that might help can be found here on the Official How to Draw Manga website. They do teach the stylized anime.manga style faces, but they also show how to do realistic faces. As for the rest of the figure they do a fairly good job of showing various techniques and often show things not found in other books and series.

Well, I figure that as long as I'm the one in charge of this that no one is going to be interested. I've passed it along to someone else who might know better than I do who will be best suited to head up this group. Maybe then people will join. Then again, it might be best to just start a new one from scratch.

Y'know what, shouldn't even try.

Don't let yourself get discouraged. I don't really get much in the way of feedback here in the forums either, yet I'm going to keep doing my stuff regardless. I don't think I'll be trying to do anything that requires the forum communities participation anymore though. I've created my Legacy Coloring Contest and nothing much is happening there. I created the Paragon One global channel and it's rarely used. I created a community/group/clup over at deviantART with only 2 people watching (one of which is myself).
Ok, maybe I shouldn't have used one of my own characters as the Unofficial Mascot of the channel and dA group. I thought it would be sort of cool as part of his character concept is that he himself is a manifestation of a communities collective consciousness. I thought it would be fitting. I can only assume that maybe people think I'm being self-centered or whatnot.
I'm also not very popular in general in any part of the forums it seems. Especially not in the Developer's Corner. I pretty much feel like everything I say is ignored and that I am not ever taken seriously. I thought that maybe I might have found a home in the Screenshots and Fan Art section of the forums, but while it seemed like I was becoming a part of the community at first, it now feels no different than anywhere else. Well, with the excepton that at least everyone is very friendly.
In the end though you shouldn't give up. Keep working at it, if even just for yourself. I'll leave you with that thought anyway as I go back to ghosting the forums. -
Ok, here's my entry to the contest. This WIP only has the flats done so far. I'm hoping to add more detail as I go on. I might even decide to change the colors a little along the way.

Don't worry, I only ever get two or three people commenting on my pics too.

You get comments?!
But, but...!!! Where's my comments?! -
Well, basically it is a deviantART account that acts as a hub for a community that are gathering around a concept. Ours for instance is a club based around the City of Heroes and Villains Screenshots and Fan Art community (or will be if we ever get it up and running). You can go to deviantART and have a look at the other Group accounts and get a better idea. Also, if you are browsing someone's deviantART page there are those that list what groups they are members of. Anyway, I think you can basically just add the group to your watch list like you do with anyone else's dA page. Well, at least this is what I found out from all my snooping around over at deviantART. If someone can add more info, please do.

Ok, I created this group/club/community on deviantART a while back, but I haven't been able to do anything with it really. I don't know how much time I'm going to be able to devote to it besides my own stuff, so I was wondering if anyone wanted to help share the burden of organizing the dA community? If anyone is interested they can PM me and I will reply with the details (password, login name and such).

Actually, I want to find out how to make demoedits of all my characters so that I can basically make an animated image of them and their various costumes that basically rotates the character so as to display it in all it's glory. It would be nice if I can find a location to put them in where the lighting is just right and the background doesn't make the costumes hard to see. Or like in Mantids emote guides where there basically is no background.

I'm going to get to work on my list of alts soon. I'm even thinking of having the character select screen displayed to show relative size, and then the costume editor screens to display all the costumes in detail. More work, but I hope it will be worth it.

I see you've gone with a mix of the Western and Eastern dragons for your dragon design. Interesting choice.

Gah! I wonder how long it's going to take me to update all of my character images? Well, after the holiday event is over I'll get right to it. It's back up to a count of 111 now. I decided to keep my Phantom Echo on Victory after playing her again last night with a few friends. I even was inspired with a new concept for her to replace her broken original concept.

BAS's arm does indeed appear to be colored in, but in just a slightly different grey. Reptilectric's chest would be a dark grey (almost a black) from looking at the screenshot I have of him. It does appear that it hasn't been colored in, grey or otherwise.

If the queue is still open, then I'll toss either one of these two into the mix.

Okay so here are some of my alts with multiple costumes and supergroup mode on and off. It brings me to the point of tears to see the awful SG mode problems in the game. They really REALLY need to recode that part so sg colors are *per costume* and not *per costume PART*.

I completely agree with you on this. I don't bring it up often because I see it mentioned so regularly, but it's getting to the point where I'm thinking of starting a crusade just to get this one little thing fixed! I find it amusing that because I don't complain about something (because I already see a large number of people already up in arms about it) that I get called a fanboy a lot. -
Hmmm... I could have been Dara Faelandra (Storm/Elec Defender), Shimo no Yousei (Ice/Ice Dominator), or Mistress Bloodshadow (Illusion/Empathy Controller). Well, as far as I can remember off hand. Any of those seem familiar?
