The picture of Retail Retali8r is called a "Timm". It's a Bruce Timm style image that Speedy does for us - yes, they're templated. You can google them and find em. However, he does them *very very well*. You might want to look down to the Screenshots area and find the 100-in-100 thread, where he has these commissioned.

Yes, I'm aware they're templated. Some people might not be, but even though I've got all 30 odd templates myself downloaded, I have yet to use one of them to make anything, and certainly won't make em look half as good as he does.

Y'know what I like about projects like this?

I can post a character named Karen Kenobi and *no one bats an eye*.

Iiiif you never got paid for it, but had a contract to do so, and now they're selling it, you need to get out there and freaking *sue* them for your pay.

Otherwise, they will simply think it's okay to continue RIPPING OFF their artists and creators. At the very least.... you ought to send them a proper C&D if they're making money off your product without you.

I have a LOT of characters that I've put into COH just to see them move. ((I think that's partially why I dislike the idea of a cel-shaded game, because this one is rendered so well.))

Characters:

Aern Kshau, aka Shard
He wound up as a Spines scrapper, but gah I hate spines. He only has arm spikes (which are shown beautifully as 'spiked wrap' gloves) and that's supposed to be ALL he uses. Basically, I should remake him as some other kind of scrapper, though ... feh, none of the others has animations I want.

Buy some printer paper, a ream of blank paper and just keep a few sheets with you at school

Never hesitate to use references to draw from. If you're eyeballing the reference you used, you've done a great job getting the point across.

If you go to DeviantART . com and look around, you'll probably find some instructive tutorials and images - check out their entire "stock art" area for good figure references and items.

There are a LOT of pretty good books out there available for drawing. The original "how to draw manga" books (the first two volumes, I should say) are *incredibly* good for learning what types of tools you can use, how to hold pen and pencil, basics of perspective and proportion, etc. Lighting, shading, folds, details those are things which you should work on after getting basics down.

I'm sure that there are a good number of folks here who can also point out links to help out!

You left out the more important part of the quote, and misquoting isn't very impressive. He pointed out clearly that it can be of benefit to everyone to do this. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you think it's a joke, then don't spend on it. He was pointing out that some will be better than others and some folks will or will not want to spend on them as they wish.

It was just awesome. I loved the constant "loving attention" being given (poor guy being rejected so often) and the ticker was great!

lol Yeah a bit of patience, mine went in pretty quickly but it's always worth noting that their global system kinda sucks Since this is attached to the NC side, it has to go through several layers to get to your account.
