I don't have experience with this on a corrupter, but do with defenders and controllers (the TC part anyway).
Yes, this will work. It will takes some serious slotting though. Both powers have a accuracy penalty, plus TC has a long'ish animation. Can't remember what the animation time on dark pit is, but I don't remember it feeling long. The duration of both will also be fairly short.
None of this should stop you from trying it and using it, just understand the weakness of them so you can counteract it. Probably a better reason to go dark/storm would be TT + FR though. TT doesn't stop KD, and it keeps them in the FR patch. Pretty sweet. Throw in nightfall, and you're golden. Just a thought.

You know see...that didn't occur to me either...TT+FR. That does indeed sound like fun...thanks! -
I have a dark\cold that's bee on the shelf for awhile, but I kind of want to start another dark and I was thinking about dark\storm and it occured to me that you could combine dark pit + thunder clap to pretty much disable a spawn for a short time. Has anyone tried this and would it be worth the wait (up to lvl 28 for thunder clap)?

do you really need consumption if you're running WP? Or are you only taking quick recovery and not stamina? On my WM/WP (a rather end intensive set) up to 20 was tough and I relied on blues, but once I hit 20 things got A LOT better. I almost never need to pop a blue now.

heheh....I'm staying away from this one. I can get behind Katana, Broadsword, and Martial Arts.....but bananas? Noty.

There's a joke in there somewhere. -
I'm just grinning since you'd be able to put thermal's shields on minions so early (as long as the levels stay about the same). Combined with zombies RES that they already, should make them quite a durable flaming bunch of zombies.

I should mention that one of my old favorite tactics (not sure if it works anymore since it's been awhile since I've pvp'ed with my MM) with my merc\psn MM would be to make my pets invisible and then go hang out someplace on the map and wait for a hero to swing around and think i was link dead or something. Naturally when they get close enough they'd see my pets...but by then it'd be too late.
Sure this would only work once..but hell it was fun when a blaster would see little old me just sitting there staring at the wall thinking i was vulnerable. -
have you looked at why you were repeatedly beaten? Were you in body guard mode when beaten? What kind of blaster was it? Fire? Blasters get aim, which will make it much easier for them to get through your shields.
Mercs can be interesting to pvp with with all their status effects they can kick out, but their damage isn't exactly the highest to balance that all out, so pvp might not be optimal for the set (doesn't mean you cant have some measure of success though). -

That sir just earned you some points in my book.
If only we could customize our thugs costumes to look like a landing party..we could give the arsonist the right outfit . -
Thanks for all the feedback..and yeah..no..I don't have a TON of inf...so I'll probably start with WP...thanks!

yeah..sorry..edited....im looking at fire melee and willpower

So I'm returning after a VERY long break...since i8 and I see lots has changed..which is GREAT! So now I'm looking to start up a new brute and I've seen some mention that fire\sr is a good combo, but I've always been a little shy of defense sets because of that one or two lucky hits that just ruins everything. Add to that ...in that fire has no damage mitigation...I'm a little confused how this'll work (I assume that if i pick up air sup that'll help).
So my other option is a safer fire\wp...the 'regen' set for brutes. Which, to me, is basically a way for me to heal up quick after I've laid waste to everything around me.
I'm willing to try fire\sr, but fire\wp seems like it would work better. Any thoughts on either of the sets together? The primary I'm really targeting though is fire. I've got a fire\elec in the 30s and she does alright, but I'm kind of tired of elec (i've got a SS\elec and SM\elec ... both in the 40s).
Any insight would be great...thanks! -
Well...I guess it would have to be:
The Assistant Manager
An old, disgruntled man dressed like a 7-eleven employee who's had just about enough selling Jamaican beef patties and is ready to take it out on the world. -
well I think you have to remember that /FA is a seconday that is focused on damage, so there are some areas where it doesn't match other sets. What makes it more even is the heal now. I ran around with it on the test server and it is a signifigant change and makes /FA much more survivable.
I look at it like dull pain. For what an /INV can't resist\defend, you can use the heal to take care of that damage. Well HF is now like that. Remember that it was not just a recharge change...but the amount of the healing that is done. I for one am seriously thinking about taking my SS/FA brute out of retirement for this one to see how well he does. -

This is EXACTLY what I needed. CoX has been dredging along and I am going to be rebuilding my box this weekend (probably going to do a minor hardware refresh) and this is something that will definately help me. THANKS!!!!!!
