Ever have those moments of DOH!
do you really need consumption if you're running WP? Or are you only taking quick recovery and not stamina? On my WM/WP (a rather end intensive set) up to 20 was tough and I relied on blues, but once I hit 20 things got A LOT better. I almost never need to pop a blue now.

Oh yea... 19 to 20 felt like it took an hour or more, but as soon as I hit 20 and got QR, I burned through a mission worth 4 bubs in about 10 minutes.
Will I *need* dark consumption with QR/Stamina? Probably not. Although I like the idea of herding up the aggro cap and slamming it with SD/DC/DarkObli/SM.
Be well, people of CoH.
With a DM/WP I don't know that you'd want it for the endurance, either. I can see using it as a fast-animating (1.03s)AoE that happens to have a stupidly long recharge, and having it as a "just in case" for mobs that drain, given that endurance draining is one of the few issues that can exist for Willpower (along with extreme damage spikes and -regen).
I have Dark Consumption (picked it up at 18, Bill) on my DM/Inv at 22; currently I'm just using it as a slowly-recharging AoE since I'm hardly ever low on endurance with 3-slotted Stamina. I'm sure that will change later (I'm only running Temp Invuln, Unyielding, and Combat Jumping atm), but for now it's just an occasional extra bit of damage that with no damage slotting can still do a fair amount due to Fury.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

^ What he said, the only place I see DC being used is a little extra aoe once every 45 secs (at uber recharge) and some blue juice when you get hit with -recov and end drain.
DM/WP is awesomely fun to play though.
Finished slapping together the initial build idea.
Looking at 200DPS with 1 enemy feeding Soul Drain.
Need 225.2%rec-red in MG for the chain of MG, SL, Gloom, Smite, repeat and the build has 227.42.... but hasten looks to have a 10 second downtime, so that'll need to be dealt with.
2444 HP with 632% regen
EDIT: UGH. I run out of end in 86 seconds.

Okay, maybe you will want Dark Consumption.
With the levels of recharge you're looking at for that chain, it'll be up before those 86 seconds are up.

So I'm here at work and fire up Mids to design his final build and sit there staring at the screen with the realization that Dark Consumption is NOT Soul Drain and I could have skipped all those gorram end issues at 18 were I not such a idiot.

With the recharge on that sucker I seriously doubt it would've made a big impact. I ran a DM/Inv Scrapper to 20 once grabbing DC at 18, and I remember being sorely disappointed at its ability to keep my end bar up.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
Put lvl 21 slots in QR. Took health instead of DC at 22 and loaded up with SOs. Hit 23 shortly thereafter.
5th diff is already a cakewalk but my old rule of "all my melee characters need tough/weave" seems to be holding true here.

Is this with Darkest Night running and does this include +end procs?
Mids doesn't incorporate the procs into its recovery calculations.
Also, be aware that Soul Drain can have a big impact on your endurance consumption if you have enough recharge.
Hit 20 on my new DM/WP replacement for my old EM/FA last night. Levels 18-20 were a nightmare of running out of end and missing.

I may have to respec as soon as I get in game tonight.
