Quote:From an interview with Mike Murphy, the NHL disciplinarian:I'm not even qualified to play a hockey fan on TV, but to my untrained eye I'd have to disagree. Rome clearly accelerated after Horton had passed the puck. I do think Boychuk should have been given an interference penalty, but didn't need to be suspended.
(Emphasis mine.)Quote:Q. Mike, can you walk us through the hit, the way you viewed it when you slowed it down and watched it in real-time. Do you think it was blindside or not?
MIKE MURPHY: I probably viewed it like most of you did. I thought it was a late hit. I thought that the body was contacted. But I also thought that the head was hit.
It caused a serious injury to Nathan Horton. So the key components are: the late hit, which I had it close to a second late. We have our own formula at NHL Hockey Operations for determining late hits, and it was late. We saw the seriousness of the injury with Nathan on the ice last night.
That's basically what we deliberated on. We tried to compare it with some of the other ones in the past. But it stands alone. It's why we made the ruling.
And he goes on to say:
So going by the standards the Mike Murphy claims to have used in the same series, Boychuk should have gotten a suspension. The Boychuk hit was 2-3 seconds after Raymonds had the puck with Boychuk's stick between Raymond's legs. Boychuk steered Raymond into the boards. Another player touched the puck before Raymond hit the boards.Quote:Q. The suspension was for the lateness of the hit.
MIKE MURPHY: Yes. The lateness combined with the injury.
Heck, even Chara did the exact same type of hit on a Canadiens player (Max Pacioretty), causing more damage (a severe concussion and a non-displaced fractured fourth cervical vertebra in his neck after being hit into a glass partition between the benches), without suspension. What are hockey fans to gather from that double standard? It looks like no one wants to discipline the outgoing boss's son's team. Colin Campbell should have ceased being the NHL disciplinarian when his son started playing in the league.
Boston shows a clear pattern of play. From my perspective, an unwelcome style. I don't want any player injured. Not for Boston, not for the Canucks, not for any other player in the league. I'm worried about a repeat of the Bertuzzi/Moore incident. Instead of a player being taken off the ice to the hospital, the next player taken off the ice might go to the morgue.
I think that everyone watching would agree with that. I hope it is a game where skill decides the victory, not who beat the stuffing out of the other team. -
Quote:I'd really hope the double standard shown by the officials and the league doesn't carry over to tonight. There's been more than enough extracurricular activity on both sides - so not sure I'd hang my hat on any of that.
Mike Murphy is being two-faced when you compare the Rome/Horton hit to the Boychuk/Raymond hit. Both hits were over a second from the player getting hit having possession, both hits were penalty worthy (Boychuk should have been called on obstruction for having his stick between Raymond's legs), and both caused serious injury. Horton is mobile and has come to Vancouver to watch the game, where as Raymond can't be moved from hospital yet. Raymond might not play again until November.
Either Rome didn't deserve a 4 game suspension or Boychuk needs to be benched. -

I believe you, but for the most part the fastest way to get them back is to re-earn them if possible.
If you are already in communication with the GMs, let them know the last time you had them, stop playing that character (it might have to be restored from a backup, so you'd lose all progress you make), and if you're using CIT you can find out when you achieved the badge(s). You can also compare if you've lost any more badges than you noticed or find out if you ever sent that info to one of the badge sites. -
Pretty much, yes.
Edit:
Use /chatload, and your last saved colors will be restrored. You will not leave any new channels though. After loading the chat settings, you can change the new channels and /chatsave. -
I don't know, but you could always copy the character to test or beta and check there.
-
Quote:If you add a channel on one character, then log into another character, that is what will happen.Tangent >.>
What bugs me is that occasionally, my global channel colors change back to defaults. It has happened several times, but I haven't been able to pin down what causes it. And the strange thing is that not all the channels default back. There are usually a few out of my 15 channels that are still custom colored which fakes me out for several days until I wonder what is it that feels different about the game. Yeah, I'm kind of oblivious at times, so I have no idea when the issue happens. Still, I don't mess with the Chat [save to file] button in Options or the chat.txt file any more than necessary. I'm the set it and forget it type. Any ideas?
Solution: When you add a chat channel use /chatsave after you've settled the new channel in a tab. Then when you log into another character use /chatload and the colors will be restored. -
Have you tried just setting up the channels how you like (say on your main character), then saving the file from that character?

Quote:The GMs can, and often do, escalate the bugs they help players bypass straight to the devs/QA team for review. After all, just like /bug doesn't go to the GM, /petition doesn't go to the devs/QA
And the steps they took to fix the problem. -
I just re-read every one of your posts in this thread, I did NOT get that from any of your posts. I also didn't see anything close to the highlighted portion.

Quote:Photobucket has some limited editing tools as well. It can do cropping and basic adjustments. The CoH forums won't host the images for you but no worries just get a free hosting site like Photobucket here make an account quick and upload the image from your game folder to it. Then the site will give you a series of unique image links for each pic. Copy the one you want and then come here and paste it the link into your post. Use the image code link ( it will have [IMG] tags at the beginning and end ) if you want to see the picture here or use the direct link one to put a text link to the file.
Check out Silver Gale's post here for the set without the glowing bits.Quote:It'd be really awesome without the weird glowing stuff. That makes it look like out of WoW. -
Actually, it would be more helpful for those affected to use the "/petition" instead of "/bug". Bugs reports generally only get passed up the QA chain without getting fixed by a GM. A petition gets the GM attention that the player would like a fix to their character, if possible.

Quote:Thanks, I glossed over that.From the May producer's letter
While I don't think the original poster was trying to be unclear, how he had put it could be taken as wanting the zone to be mixed alignment.Quote:I don't see the OP asking for a co-op Ouro. I don't think I've seen it at all from anyone except YOU.
If this is what he meant, then yeah it wouldn't be a major undertaking.Quote:1) The OP wants the ability for a Rogue to use Ouro (they get the Villain copy) to go to Paragon City, by a crystal with the Hero copy's zone list, possibly locked behind a door in the Ouro citadel that only Rogues can get through.
2) The OP wants the ability for a Vigilante to use Ouro (they get the Hero copy) to go to the Rogue Isles, by a crystal with the Villain copy's zone list, possibly locked behind a door in the Ouro citadel that only Vigilantes can get through. -
Quote:Yes, and people for the last 6 years have been saying that it is MUCH easier to get around the Rogue Isles than it is getting around Paragon City.Since I rarely use hero Ouro I decided to check the actual connections. That's a disappointing list of zones.
So sharing Ouro (exit zone) access would be pointless, yes. More ways to get around Paragon, though, are needed. Maybe it's just that the Rogue Isles are so much easier to navigate by comparison, but Paragon feels like it involves needlessly long trips for everything. I heard that there will be some area revamps in Issue 21, so maybe the really big zones will have more transit stops put in. Areas like Steel Canyon could even use a Central stop.
He was asking for a zone connection. It doesn't matter if that connection is a door, a car, an NPC, or even a giant octopus. To put it another way, it is the equivalent to a hyperlink on the Internet. It can, and often does, look like something other than a phrase or simple button. A hero/vigilante can't enter the villain version of Ouroborus or a villain base, and a villain/rogue can't enter the hero version of Ouroborus or a hero base. That has been a limitation ever since Issue 18 has been in closed beta, to my knowledge.Quote:I think you have not read everything that's been posted. I mentioned the elevator to RV leading to a section in the same zone, I never said Fort Trident wasn't part of Atlas Park's map (because I haven't verified this information in game yet), and I never said the OP was asking for a literal doorway of any kind.
Black Scorpion and Second Measure during a recent ustream chat (At around time index 1:29:30.) said that in order to have a co-op Ouroborus they would have to re-write the zone, the contact system, and the mission system.
I don't try to "mind read" anything people post. I try to take every post as meaning exactly what it says.Quote:I also think you should refrain from attempting to "mind read" people on the internet. You don't know who I am, how I think, what I know, or what I've read. And frankly, that's none of your business.
Yes, I am not trying to be harsh. I am trying to be concise and clear.Quote:I'm sure he's not trying to be abrasive. Sometimes straight-talking comes off harsher online when there aren't any verbal clues as to attitude. I don't think he knows everything, but he's pretty knowledgeable! (Except, apparently, how bothersome it is for rogues to get around Paragon
)
As to the rogue transportation issue, I'm familiar with it. I started this game during Issue 3. There weren't any teleporters, bases, and the PTA was divided into the yellow and green lines. Pocket D didn't exist in its current form. It was the Paragon Dance Party (not the first version, but a later version). It had an entrance by the Steel Canyon ICON, half way along the east side of Terra Volta in IP, and Talos by the natural store. Founders' Falls and south Skyway didn't have Green Line access. I'm not guessing how bad it was to get around in Paragon City, I KNOW how bad it was. Even with the "scenic route" that rogues have to take, it is a lot easier than it used to be. And the game still has a lot of shortcuts even for rogues to use.
Can you please direct me to anywhere where the developers promised to re-vamp zones other than say they would "like to" revamp zones? My understanding of everything I've read is that they'd like to revisit zones, but doing so takes a long time and is a low priority.Quote:The actuallyuseful thing to do is much harder - zone revamps. But that's already on the Issue 21 plate. We probably can't influence it that much at this point, but there's at least hope that more train stops will be (or at this stage for the devs, were) added to the big/long zones.
What you are describing in this sentence is impossible. As in it cannot be done with this game. I do know that every time I tried to have a rogue or villain even attempt to join the mission in RWZ on a blue sider's Ramiel arc that it has failed to allow them on the team. Same goes for every blue side flashback (can only be started in the hero Ouroborus or a hero base) or the reverse (heroes and vigilantes can't be invited to the Villain version of Ramiel's arc or any villain flashback).Quote:Back on topic, though, I was recently playing a rogue Brute on a team of mostly bluesiders running the Mender Ramiel arc.
A rogue can't be in the blue side Ouroborus. It should be impossible to do. I don't know what mission or arc you were on, but it wasn't Ramiel's or you were a brute turned hero that still belonged to a villain group. That is something else entirely.Quote:At one of the missions where you had to leave Ouro, all the blue teammates disappeared at once; they'd all used their SG Base teleporters to get to the mission, which I don't have yet. I didn't have any other teleporters of my own, either (it was only after that that I bought the packs with the Mission and Pocket D teleporters). First thing that popped into Team chat was along the lines of "Aw, crap. Wait up, guys, I'm gotta hafta take the scenic route..." -
Quote:Well, at least not in Boston.I wouldn't bet on Luongo getting another shutout, either.
Maybe the Canucks will play Cory Schneider in Boston.
I agree though, it will probably have to go to game 7. Both teams seem to have an issue with not playing on home ice. -

Quote:Yes, Pinnbadges (if I remember Pinnacle's main badge channel right) should have more people on than Triumph Watch 2.0 at that point. That would be a much better tool to use than the search tool in this case.Which, I shouldn't need to point out, is not the same server or time as Pinnacle at 5 AM. (Edit: Just so snow_globe knows, I'm not being snarky so much as poking at him for fun here. Re-read it and it could be taken wrong.)
And, as I keep telling you, you don't need a full raid to do this. -
Quote:Believe what you will, but those search results are not showing everyone on. I frequently play after midnight pacific on Triumph, an East Coast server. I know what I'm talking about as far as the search window is concerned. Were you on at 5 AM when I did that? (again, typical time for me to be playing.)
No?
Then don't tell me that's not showing all the matches. Or go on some fairy story that there's some vast redside population on at that time (there isn't.)
I don't see the need to push it as it is fairly easy to get/unlock. -
Quote:Get 1-4 other players (depending on build) to help take out the Pylons, then get the badge. The other thing you (or anyone wanting this) can do is ask on a badge, TF, general teaming, group, general chat, or even the help channel to get some help. Who knows a raid might just break out. There are no beacons for PVP zones. And given, according to Lemur, the beacon is "less convenient" than the other forms of goign into the zone, I'd hardly say it's meant to be an "enticement." Unless you're trying to sell me the idea that the beacon for the RWZ is *so* special and *so* powerful compared to all the others it's somehow worthy of this extra annoyance. Are you saying that?
Given the low requirements, I see no problem with leaving this badge as an enticement.Quote:Besides, there are several OTHER "enticements" for joining a raid - other badges, Vanguard merits and, for the Incarnate-minded, a chance to pound level 54s to try to get shards. One less "enticement" is hardly going to discourage people from raiding.
Except for Faultline. It needs the four original and the 4 new explore badges from the re-vamp. From a ease of use standpoint the other beacons should just require all the explore badges in the zone as well.Quote:Oh - and no, the beacons don't need 8, actually. They still need their old, lower amounts - Peregrine Island, for instance, just needs one, and the Hollows just needs 5. You don't get the zone exploration badge or the merits, of course. So while I don't *believe* there's precedent for removing one from the list, there IS for not needing every exploration badge in the zone to get the teleporter.
Three points:Quote:Oh, and given this is a typical time for me to play:
Yeah. Just have to wait for that raid to start!- That isn't showing all the matches, you need to click search again to show more.
- That isn't showing all the villains, rogues, or vigilantes in the red side zones.
- That is more than enough people to take out the pylons.

Quote:I'm proud to be Canadian. And with no disrespect meant to our northern neighbors, every time I see Canada mentioned, I think of this. (It starts 3 seconds in...)
And the "professional" attitude that the Bruins is any better? That disrespect for the game goes right down to the timekeeper in TD Garden. It is funny to note that TD stands for Toronto Dominion...Quote:The Canucks? A team of whining, biting, ice-diving, cheapshotting, crybabies?
No thanks.
Even the Bruins' coach claims that he doesn't like his own team's attitude. They are a bunch of thugs.
Edit:
I will say this... The Bruins style of hockey had its place -- in the 70's. The game deserves better than that now.
