And such hybrid DNA gives Them (nebulous bad guy pronoun) a headstart on full Time Lord DNA.
No, what the Doctor was saying, was that it took billions of years of evolution whilst living next to the untempered schism to produce the Time Lords. A single generation of flying through the Time Vortex wouldn't have a huge effect on someone, but it would open a door, given them a head start.

I'd say this is more likely, although I expect it won't be from the Doctor, but one of the other Time Lords that are almost definitely still out there, like the Master, the Rani, Rassilon or Omega... or maybe the Monk

Besides, if it had been a natural mutation, it wouldn't have made her part Time Lord, it would have made her something totally different.

Ah, but the Doctor said that it doesn't work that way, conceiving a child on the TARDIS doesn't make the child any part Time Lord, what it did do was give the bad guys a head start, something they could work from.

I wonder if people listen to themselves. Doctor Who might not be your average family show, but I don't think it's in the realms of Oedipus levels of incest.
  6. Guys, we saw her mother and father at her wedding after the Doctor rebooted the universe.
  7. The reason River didn't regenerate in Silence in the Library, aside from the fact that who she was probably hadn't been established, was that she said if the Doctor used himself as a connection it would have killed him outright too. I don't see why it'd be different for any River.

Knowing the internet it'll probably just mean more of it will be made...
  8. Before we get any further, I'd like to say:

    AMERICANS BEWARE!

We are not talking about the second part of The Reble Flesh, we are talking about the mid season finale, A Good Man Goes to War.

You are a week behind the UK.

This thread will likely contain spoilers for both episodes!

Reliability will be the major thing. As long as it's reliable as say, a helicopter, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Just listened to it on iPlayer, you are correct.
  13. I call bull!

I can't see Tennant coming back this quickly, especially after his farewell and Moffet trying to forge his own style in the show.
  14. I'm pretty sure the only one that changed was Tom Baker's line.
  15. SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so a pile of twisted rotting Flesh that's still sentient, still awake isn't scary?

    What about hyper elongated mouths?

    Walls filled with eyes?

Giant freaky monster that's giant and freaky?

Woman about to give birth in a small perfectly white box with just a hatch in it?

    Really?
  16. Anyone else think this episode might have crossed a line with it's scariness though? I mean... there was some real nightmare fuel in this one.

That episode was so good though! SO GOOD!
  17. First of all, I know that our American friends won't get to see this for another week, if you are reading this thread I say to you, do not get spoiled. Avoid spoilers like they are the plague... just... stay away.

This thread will have HUGE SPOILERS!!!! Stay the HELL away! Just stay away if you have not seen this episode.

    No joke.

    *ahem*

Well, they already have HD 3D TVs that don't require glasses. The only problem is viewing angle and price.
Price will come down naturally as time goes on, so it's all about that viewing angle.

Yet. Technology will improve. Many companies are working on it.

Colour and Sound were both accused of being gimmicks when they were invented.

Just because we haven't seen 3D used properly yet (which is debatable, Avatar had amazing 3D), doesn't mean we won't.

The biggest problem so far is that most "3D" films aren't filmed in 3D, but converted... poorly. This is the equivalent of making a silent film and then dubbing in other actor's voices or making a black and white film and colourising it.

If you do a good job, it'll be fine, if you do a bad job it'll be horrible. Bad jobs are cheaper.

Colour too. And Sound. All these silly fads.

It does seem a pretty stupid thing to do though.

Simply labelling it "Under Grodd's control" would have removed all controversy.
  24. When was the last one?

Anyway, I really loved this episode, it was really creepy and had great atmosphere.

    SPOILERS!

And when she had a worm neck and and was coming towards the camera was just AMAZINGLY freaky! I bet some kids ended up behind the sofa!

    RIP Macho Man

Randy Savage was a wrestler that defined an age in wrestling, he was one of the big three, up there with Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant and it's a shame that he's gone.
