    [REROUTING]

If there were any possible ways to find where the signal was coming from, it would be bounced to another encrypted location. If you persisted, you'd be found before we were.

"Attention is needed." A screen flickered to life with a hijacked feed from Portal Corps. The signals were being bottomed out as eyes were reading the data flow across the screen at speed that could only be matched by a computer.

"Surge it and break it once it nearly bottoms out."

"Aye." Once the meters were bottomed out, they surged. Beyond any measured levels before. It wouldn't take long to accomplish what was trying to be done.

    Fire Base Zulu

Anyone who made an attempt to enter Fire Base Zulu was sent to a little location that Portal Corps had their portals set to let out at. They would be met with the normal Fire Base Zulu, except instead of soldiers, there were shadows standing in their place. And they weren't happy shadows.
  2. I probaly could join up, but depending on how my own scedule works out I MAY or MAY NOT be able to stay in. As you can see from my own thread, I tend to have very strange posting habits. Either a ton of them, or not very many and at odd hours.

I could bring in a group that I've been working on the backstory for if you'd want.

    Should I...

Heh. Long time no see Shinji.

    <--- Darkstorm, btw.

I wouldn't go into an RP on a trial account, it'd be ditching them unless you would join back up after. It's really your call, man.
  4. Well, Cthulhu and his band of Old Ones, have not bothered me much other than the time when I woke up overflooded with emotions (long story, not sure how it happened).

Lovecraft's work hasn't bothered me, not has Geigers. I've read almost all of their works when I was at a young age and have almost grown up with them over time. Very good stuffs.

A character could be driven insane by a glimpse of the awesome scale of the Old Ones horrids. But, most of mine are very comfortable with the Old Ones, and they don't bother them much.

  6. ((Huh? What am I supp-- oh, now I remember.))

Thule had placed himself in a bad situation with the paper-bomb. It was true that he couldn't escape from a bomb in three seconds, nor could anything short of a bullet or other objects faster than 20 to 50FPS. Sure, Thule could run fast, but he couldn't run /that/ fast.

But there was only the need to shield himself from the blast by simply turning away incase any shrapnel from the directional blast would scatter or if it misfired.
  7. *pulls the plug on the game*

    I win, gg.
  8. The blade dug deeper and deeper into Thule only to be met with the blunt stopping force of an alloy plate that was as flexible as silicone and as hard and resistant as carbon fiber steel. Before this plate there was a complex weave of spider silk, it wasn't your normal weave either. It was one custom created for this purpose. The spider silk weave covered the alloy plate and prevented from contact. The blade would simply cut the silk and slide off before the chain mail-nanites began to mesh the two back together.

His target was near. He detached one of his dual wrist blades and hurled it towards Steve's chest.

Instinctively, his free hand retreived a sheet explosive, it was stuck to his hand with removable glue, but on the other side, it was open in the air with glue that dried and tripled its strength almost instantly. The sheet explosive hand gripped the blade driving into him and attached the explosive. He tried to bend the blade a little bit before letting go.

As soon as he would let go the timer would begin.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Busy executing the attempt, even if he interrupted at this very moment, Thule stood little to no chance of countering the strike of dual katanas from this close a range, not to mention behind...

    [/ QUOTE ]

((I'm thinking stab and not slash, so correct me if I'm wrong. Also, don't we have a fight in almost every thread involving Thule Devious? :P))

A second or two went by before the blades impacted. Being katanas, they cut right though the bullet proof vest like all knifes with razor sharp edges would. They however stopped dead a the alloy underlay that was at its most primitive form, chain mail, but linked at the cellular level.

The chain links were not solid like old chain mail. They were hollow and filled with repairing nanites that would flush out and repair the individual ring if damaged too badly.

He was powerless about the two strikes. As soon as he registered the two strikes his wrist blades extended as he turned himself around with enough force to cut a steel pole with his two wrist blades. His first blade went high while his other went lower to take advantage of more momentum from being second.
  10. Thule wasn't sure why the man was still standing. Maybe it was a hologram? No. His eyes could tell the difference between a soild figure and a hologram. Perhaps there was a force field being projected from the hologram somehow?

Thule took a breif moment to reconfigured his teleportation field. He wasn't sure if this would work or not, as it could simply blow him up if he wasn't 200% sure of it. Though, if he were to explode, the explosion would be caught in the internal force field and contained - there was no side effects, other than not being teleportable.

He tested it on a brick near by. It worked somewhat, instead of teleportating the target it shoved them into the warp space with no exit point, according to his trackers. This wouldn't work, it had to teleport the target.

A minute of tweaking later, a few more bricks into the warp space, and a near core overload later...

Thule kept a heat lock on Steve the entire time. The heat lock could and would be used as a targeting mark. He tried to teleport twice. It missed twice, only grabbing at the air around it. Third time was the charm, Steve looked like he had vanished from Thule's heat lock.

If he landed where Thule had hoped he would, then he would only have a few seconds to live before his head was hacked off.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Steve sighed. "Panzerfrau..." He chucked a rock, watching as it sailed through her, making the image shimmer, then restabilize. "And it's just a hologram."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thule had spent every moment in Steve's shadows since he had stepped of the Tram. Cloaking decides came in handy most of the time, and this was one of them.

With metahuman percision Thule drew his modified Dragunov SVD Rifle. The modifications were his business only. There was no need for a scope, Thule's eyes could see double what most scopes could see if he were to concentrate only on his vision and ignore everything else.

He took aim. Needing no room for error, he checked his aim several times.

He placed a single 7.62x54R bullet into the chamber.

Safety was taken off, deep breaths taken, finger a millisecond away from Steve's death.

He pulled the trigger after five minutes of watching. He didn't move once in that time frame.

The 7.62x54R round flew though the air, cutting it. It impacted just as Steve muttered his last words.
  12. Personally, the Longbow base catches my eye the most. Mainly because I've been in that RP before.
  13. Any is fine with me. I don't really care which.

Like I've said before, I'm just a face in the crowd.
  14. Thule looked at Sybil, and let a mechanical sigh out. His cold robotic eyes reflected everything in the room, he blinked and they grew dead cold. Red targeting dots were in his eyes, he ignored them for now.

"My purpose is to join the resistance. To fight against what I once worked for. Why? You could say that anyone can change their ways."

He stopped for a second or two.

    "Even the most unlikely subjects."

    Quoted for truth.

Seriously, dude, you need to have it either hosted by w00tradio or that other radio station. That'll get you some more publicity and some music to jam to.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Sybil grimaced at Thule's answer. She had half-hoped she could get multiple answers easily by claiming he hadn't given a good enough one. Then again, if necessary, there was always forceful intrusion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thule look at Sybil, he was good at reading people's expressions, "You are only getting one answer per question. If there are many different components of said answer, you will get most of them."

    [ QUOTE ]
But even as she thought of it, the idea suddenly slipped away from her. The feeling was disconcerting, but a voice in the back of her head told her not to worry about it. Instead, she asked, "What are the defenses in Elitist's tower?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

He smiled, she was finally getting somewhere, "his defenses? Lets see here," he paused and brought up his security log, making sure there had been no malicious software surviving in his system.

"First, we have several blocks of honor guard outside. Then when you get inside, you are greeted with several electronic scanners and a manual check. Quite a few patrols wandering the grounds as well."

"Then you have his fliers circling the entire complex, keeping watch on the streets. They will find you and gun you down with fully automatic lass cannons, remote controlled missiles, swarm missiles, and a few proton seekers."

SCAN COMPLETE. . . MINIMAL INTEREFERANCE, ELIMINATE_

The last line flashed for a few seconds before Thule stopped his explanation and told it "no".

"Then he has lieutenants on call. Basically, these guys just wait around until someone needs bashed, something done, etc."

He thought back to his times in the tower, there had always been dome-shaped spheres on the walls and some on the floors. They looked like something he had seen before. He couldn't remember quite what it was, just a popular nickname.

"You'd expect him to have turrets and other defenses correct? Of course, he has tons of those. Not normal turrets, things he liked to call Scorpions Surprises. He has laser defenses and systems."

"And lastly, special solders on loan. You know, like Tyrant's androids - anymore questions?"
  17. "A secret. There is no secrets anymore. Ask the right questions and you may receive an answer. If you don't then you'll get no where."

    Changing servers

Young one, you must grow strong in the ways of SearchFu!

    Virtue - 'unofficial RPing server'
Protector - you can find some RPers on there.

I'd go with Virtue, or stay where you are now and look for some.

Hey everyone, glad to see the people I knew are still around and it's great to meet those of you who weren't.

    *Rubs side*

    Thanks Cosma

As for Inventions Leo, I've made a few so far, but I'm still trying to learn how the whole system works. Been reading about it on Paragon Wiki.

And Arashi, good to see you again. I brought you back something.

    *Hastily searches his pockets*

Uh... well, I have a paper clip...

MrGrey and MrKrazy good to see some new people around here. I can't wait to see your styles.

And as for Virtue Terminus, I have a lot of lowbie alts and one lvl 20 hero. But I'd love to play with you.
