A blaster was my first character. Blasters were always my first love. I've played all the other archetypes, and I've loved many other characters in other archetypes, and I've helped improve many other archetypes, but I was most pleased to finally get to work with the devs to improve blasters. When the sun finally sets on City of Heroes, I will be logged in as a Blaster.
For all the good and all the bad and everything in between, I will miss them.

I do love blasters, my first character was an energy/energy blaster (and occasional blapper). I think one of my biggest regrets about the game ending is that I'm not going to get to play her with the Issue 24 changes on live. Issue 24 was the first thing that ever got me to go on Beta and the fast snipes, longer range tier 3, nova with no crash and extra resistance from IO set changes sure was nice. And that's without even having respecced into picking up Energize again yet!
I've always considered myself a controller type.
But my first character and namesake's a blaster (Elec/Elec). My first level 50 was a different blaster (Sonic/Fire). My second level 50 was a claws scrapper (so may as well be a blaster).
Maybe I don't know my playstyle as well as I think I do.
Back in 2004 I logged into City of Heroes for the first time. I chose the protector server, and rolled by first Character. A fire/fire blaster named Hephaestus. City of Heroes was the game I always wanted to play even before it was released. A vast world of superheroes where I could live out my nerdy fantasies. I won't like and say there weren't frustrations or disappointments. But this game kept me playing for 7 years. For 5 years I played it exclusively, ignoring all other games. And while I eventually branched out to other AT's the blaster was by far my favorite. I have 2 Level 50 blasters. Fire/Fire/Fire and Elec/Elec/Elec. And quite a few baby blasters. Even though I haven't played in over a year, news about the games closing makes me feel profoundly sad. Without thinking about it Paragon City became home. I'm going to miss it. And I'm going to miss all of you.
