Comic Quotes to say goodbye.

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories — if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death. "

Sandman #6, Neil Gaiman

And from the same series, two quotes from death, lest we think to poorly of her.

"When the first living thing existed, I was there, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave." Death

Sandman #20, Neil Gaiman

"Rainie, mythologies take longer to die than people believe. They linger on in a kind of dream country that affects all of you." Death

Sandman #20, Neil Giaman

Share your own favorite quotes that come to mind now, if you like. It just seems appropriate, somehow.

Well, I posted these over in Tonys thread, but I'll post them here to although, they aren't really of the goodbye variety...

JLU Episode:Hearafter

Batman: "I’ve got some things to say. I should’ve said them when you were here but...despite our differences, I have nothing but respect for you. I hope you knew…know that. You showed me that justice doesn’t always have to come from the darkness. I’ll miss…"

*Explosion*

Batman: "What did you always call it, Clark? The never-ending battle?"

-----

I dunno, seems fitting. or possibly,

-----

Superman vs the Elite:
"You know what, Black..? I wouldn't have it any other way. Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul I swear... until my dream of a world where dignity, honor and justice becomes the reality we all share... I'll never stop fighting. Ever."

So many awesome quotes can go in here, and they all fit... I guess in the sense that we are saying....

Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

Transformers: Beast Wars.
S2 Ep9: Code of Hero

Dinobot: The question which once haunted my being has been answered. The future is not fixed, and my choices are my own... and yet, how ironic! For I now find, I have no choice at all! I am warrior... let the battle be joined.

[last words]
Dinobot: Tell my tale to those who ask it. Tell it truly, the good and the bad, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence.

Rorschach's quotes (From Watchmen) Stick in my mind most right now.

I shall go and tell the indestructible man that someone plans to murder him.

Suddenly you discover humanity...convenient. If you cared from the start, none of this would of happened!

Of course you must protect Veidt's new utopia. What's one more body amongst foundations... Well what are you waiting for? Do it... DO IT!

You pay to play. Having fun is ok. Kill Skuls or kill Crey. Hunt at night or in the day. Black or white or shades of grey. Play it your way. We have no say.
