Thanks to all the Fans!
The Paragon Times articles were some of my very favorite things about the early game. Thanks for working on those and making them so awesome.

I used to go by the forum name Gilgamesh. I was one of the original CoH devs at NCsoft (2004 - 2006). I'm the guy that wrote most of the old Paragon Times articles (as Jackson Turner). It's a sad day but I wanted to thank all the fans from the early beta days to now for loving this game. All the CoH teams, past and present, worked very hard to bring you the best MMO possible. We loved working on CoH as much as you loved playing it. Personally, I wanted to thank all of you for being true superheroes! I was honored to be among all of you. Take care. Be well. --Will Hiles

Thank you for investing so many years into the game. Farewell and take care.

Thank you. And to all the developers: designers, programmers, artists, writers past and present - thank you. 'Eight years' in means this wasn't just a hobby for me. It was a love affair wrapped in an adventure wrapped in some really hot spandex.
I hope to find another game one day made by some of you. We'll start this dance all over again.
You know it's been some years since I visited the forums. I got nostalgic and did some searches regarding all my old posts--mostly about the Paragon Times articles. Man, were you guys brutal with the criticisms! Still, I loved writing them and hearing from you guys. Good times! Fond memories. My son was 4 years old when CoH launched. He's now 11 and a big fan of the game. Where does the time go? Even though I've moved on from NCsoft and CoH, it always felt good knowing the game was still going strong and superheroes were still protecting Paragon City. The world is going to be a wee bit dimmer when the the last lights are turned off in Paragon City.....

Gilgamesh I remember you well.
I really want to thank you and everyone involved in the process now and over the years for making City of Heroes the best super hero MMO EVER!
Period. There was no competition. The Paragon Times Articles were something I loved reading as well. Safe travels and godspeed my friend!

Doom.
Yep.
This is really doom.
I love reading those articles (on Paragonwiki these days, but still)! Thanks for writing them, and for all your hard work as a developer - and that goes for all the developers who helped build this game, from Jack and the Cryptic team way back when to Positron and the PS gang now. I just wish there was some way to keep the world all of you created alive even after the lights go out on the servers...
"Now, I'm not saying this guy at Microsoft sees gamers as a bunch of rats in a Skinner box. I'm just saying that he illustrates his theory of game design using pictures of rats in a Skinner box."
They where still good stuff even if everyone didn't love them. Glad you dropped by.

I thought losing them (and the comics, though the latter I kind of understood) were awful.
Thank you so much for them.
Thank you for making such a wonderful game, it obviously hurts so much to see it go, because if it wasn't terrific, it wouldn't matter.

I wasn't here for Beta, but was here when the game dropped live from the shelf of my local gaming store. Thanks for creating the best and only MMO that has ever held my attention, and my heart.
I'll be here until November 30th, and logged in running content.
Long Live Paragon City! Long Live City of Heroes! CoH will always have an honored place in gaming history and we were all a proud part of it. CuppaJo, Aura, Arctic Sun, Cricket... and all those who followed us, job well done!
Nice to hear from you Gilgamesh. It was a pleasure to meet you at one of the Austin NCSoft Meet & Greets. That was also where I met CuppaJo, Cricket and Arctic Sun.
It was also where I first heard about Tabula Rasa (you told me that was the project you were working on then).
The highlight of my night was when one of the TV news women wanted to get me over to a corner to talk to me. She had mistaken me for Robert Garriot as were we dressed similarly. I just thought she had taken a shine to me and that I was going to get lucky.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Hey Tex! Good to hear from you. Yeah I still remember that Meet & Greet. Good times! CoH's community was/is the best! Hope you are doing well!
