Praetorian storyline?

Hey there folks, just looking for some clarification. How is the praetorian storyline meant to unfold on the blue side? My impression from digging around was that Tina Macintyre's arc was supposed to be the introduction, but she talks to the player as if Praetoria and the associated characters are all familiar.

I did notice that her arc has apparently been changed and that it USED to be an introduction to these things. With this change, is there a new introduction somewhere that I missed, or is it just assumed that the player base as a whole knows all of these things already?

In any case, can someone lay out for me the order to correctly go through the full praetorian story (contacts, TFs, etc)?

Thanks!

ParagonWiki is your friend.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Indeed it is, and I've mass consumed a large portion of its content since coming back about a month ago, including pretty much all the lore. I *AM* familiar with the praetorian background and general information provided there. What I'm after is the correct sequence to experience the storyline IN GAME, and I havent found anything on the wiki that can help me there.

The introduction to Praetoria begins now with First Ward; Primal characters are invited to help out there when they are level 20.

The Sutter TF takes place sort of out of order with the grand scheme of things (repelling the Praetorian assault that happens just before/alongside the first couple iTrials; it gave midlevel characters something to do with the storyline when it was first introduced).

Aye, I did all the first ward / night ward questing. I just didnt feel like the jump to first ward was a proper intro, it still felt like the NPC's assumed I knew about praetoria and the basics of the political structure there.

Because the game as a whole has updated its 'timeline' so that Praetoria events are happening 'now'. The old content is still trying to follow a 'level progression timeline' that doesn't apply anymore. Newer content supersedes the older stuff.

Ok, so from some digging around I think I've been able to get at least a partial order together:

Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial

Lambda Sector Trial

Keyes Island Reactor Trial

Underground Trial

TPN Campus Trial

Minds of Mayhem Trial

Dark Astoria

Dilemma Diabolique Trial

Belladonna Vetrano

Magisterium Trial

I'm guessing that Tina Macintyre and Maria Jenkins are sort of before any of that stuff? And then there are the first / night ward arcs that are seperate, as well as the Sutter TF which from what I can tell happens first? Am I missing anything?

AFAIK, the order is:
First, Tina's and Maria's old arcs. Maybe. They're in Ouro, and while there are similarities between them and the new arcs, they're probably still canon as being the initial way we discovered Praetorian Earth.

After that, comes the Praetorian 1-20 content. Which arcs really happened, and how they went, depends on what character you're on, but overall, these missions are next in the timeline. Notably, you can see some of the early war preparations, the creation of the warworks, etc. during these.

From here, staying in Praetoria leads to the FW/NW arcs. These mostly ignore the war, and timeline-wise seem to be set alongside the war. The one thing we do know is, because Diabolique pops up, at least that much of them has to be set prior to DA.

Staying with the war, we get the new Tina arc, and the new Maria arc. Essentially, they're Primal Earth seeing, and dealing with, the first few operations conducted by Praetorian Earth. We're not at open war yet, but they're sneaking over here, stealing technology, kidnapping people, etc. to get information.

After that, is the Sutter TF. It's the opening volley of the war proper. Praetorian Duray has allied with Primal Duray and the Sky Raiders, and they launch an attack, damaging most of Skyway City. Apex and Tin Mage show Primal Earth's first proper counterattack.

From there, presumably most of the governments in Primal keep fighting off Praetorian attacks, or something, but the players mostly get involved in the offensive. And not even because of the war. Prometheus has found out that Tyrant is the Champion Of The Well, and has decided to gather incarnates and take him down, which coincidentally ends up stopping the war. Lam, BAF, Keyes, UG, TPN, and MoM happen, in that order.

DA then cuts in. Problems happen here on Primal Earth requiring incarnate power to deal with them. Diabolique resurfaces, Dominatrix finally shows up in the incarnate line, and Dream Doctor appears.

DA is capped off by the DD trial, and then focus goes back to Praetoria with Belladonna's arc. After her arc comes Tyrant's personal mission, which is probably set all of five minutes before the Magisterium trial. With that trial, Praetorian Earth has been evacuated, Tyrant defeated, and the war is over.

I24 will have some stories dealing with the aftermath, but I think that covers all the major Praetorian activity up to now.

Wşth DA arcs there is a new type of missions called Personal missions. Tyrant's is an exception but all others involve non-combat story related missions. Tyrant's on the other hand was designed as a carnage mission but due to a bug (please note that I didn't encounter bug lately but most people still do) it is mostly unplayable. You can get Tytrant's persona mission from bella at the end of her arc or from flashback system at Ouro. Also a small note BAF is before Lam but it is minor point.

I presume from the above that you haven't run the introductory arcs in Atlas.
