Cheap Power-Leveler Build? AT? Powerset? Maps?
Fire/Kin controllers are a classic choice, especially if the account you're using to PL is a freebie and has no access to IOs. Still, it's hard to go wrong with a Brute, especially with some IOs slotted.

SS/fire brute with enemies tailored to fire damage (to get REALLY tailored this requires AE on the PLer account, otherwise get a demon farm map).

Ack! i forgot that Freebies and lower tier Premiums can't access Controllers.
Fire/Fire Brute
Elect/Fire Brute SS/Fire Brute Seeing the trend here? Controller won't be an option on a freebie acct since trollers are restricted. Most /Fire brutes can do decent on just SOs especially with red/purple insps. |
My bad. So go with the list Toast has. (Yah, there's a bit of a trend there. )

D'OH!!! Took for granted that my new account would have access to AE. Dumb ***umption on my part. Thanks for the suggestions but may rethink this whole second account idea and just pay occasionally to PL a new character to the 20's. Again thanks though.

I think you only need one or two additional tokens to gain the ability to play in AE. You don't get rewards at that level, but it doesn't carry over to teammates, so you could still PL with the Premium account.

If you're only going to need the alt account occasionally, use Refer a Friend codes on it. The RAF code can be used on any account that hasn't been VIP in the last 90 days. Using the code gets (and subscribing the referred account for at least 30 days) gets the referrer a month of free time (meaning that you pay no extra to subscribe the second account), and the refered account gets 500 points on top of the regular VIP stipend. Once the paid time expires, you can use another referral code on it, as long as you leave the account Premium at least 90 days.
If you REALLY want to take advantage of this, you can create four additional accounts and cycle through them. You'll never have to pay for your main account again, and you'll always have a VIP alt account to dual-box with, for whatever you want to use it for. The only downsides are that you're always paying a month at a time, so you can't just leave your account to auto-renew, and you can't pay for multiple months at once, since you're paying for a different account each month.
Note that you have to be VIP to send out a referral code, so each account has to be referred and subscribed before any free time remaining on the main account expires.

After we get through the obligatory power-leveling is bad rants, what is a good AT/power set combo build for a second account power-leveler character.
I am tired of running DFB to skip the dreaded (my opinion) teen levels to get a character on my main account to level 22/27 (where I usually IO characters). So I was thinking of creating a second account and building a power-leveler to get lowbies into their 20's.
Given that this character is only going to get SO's and not a lot of time will be invested in him, I just want a basic/decent PL'er.
First thoughts were brutes and a claws/elect I read about. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
