Pets and Nature?

So I'm having a really hard time deciding what to pair with Nature. I was thinking that it sounded like a set that should be great with MM pets, but is it? Is Nature on a MM strong enough to keep your pets alive and beneficial enough to them, or is it just an ok set when compared to your other options? I know generally healing doesn't keep your pets alive since they die so fast, but does this set have enough HoT and variety to overcome that?
Does this set have any particular synergies with MM primaries?

I'd probably mostly likely be considering Demons. (Man I wish they weren't so big and ugly.)

Another possibility is Beast, but I've been pretty underwhelmed with that set. I have a Beast/Time that I feel like the Beast part of that set is mostly useless. Would I feel any less that way with /Nature? I thought /Time would be hard to go wrong with.
They die like Ninjas and their damage seems incredibly lackluster. It takes the whole group of em some time to take down just 1 minion. I got up to my last pet but not the lvl 32 enhancement yet. Maybe I'm just missing something about Beast.
It really seems like melee pets have a much harder time than ranged.

I could do Ninjas... but they were pretty painful. I did a Ninjas/Pain. I don't think I want to go through Ninjas again.

I already have a Necro/Poison, Thugs/Dark, Bots/Traps, Mercs/Sonic so I prefer not to repeat myself with primaries. I know this doesn't leave me a lot of good choices ^_^; Though a small part of me would consider doing Necro again. Thugs I definitely love as-is and Bot and Merc aren't that fun with a nature theme for me though I could see others using it.

I mostly wanted to see if it was worth doing on a MM in particular, or if I should continue considering a troller or Defender instead.

I agree with Demons being a prime choice; they already come with mitigation and healing for themselves and you.

Next up would probably be Bots (for that infected War Works feel); again they have mitigation for everyone (but only heals for themselves).

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"

Do Mercenaries.

Even though you already done it.
