Having trouble with multiple monitors

I've been asking this question in game, and people keep giving me similar advice, but for some reason it doesn't work. Here's the problem:


I have two monitors, and the game plays in my main monitor, and the other one is not a part of the game. Yet, CONSTANTLY, I'm in the middle of battle and hit some edge of a screen and the game immediately jumps out of my main screen, opens up some file on my computer, and I end up having to exit out of things while I'm in the middle of a fight. Kind of annoying.


I need to be able to play this in one screen and not be shoved out of the game every time I accidentally come close to the edge of my screen. But I've tried changing settings for screen resolution, changing to desktop, and choosing pretty much EVERY option that exists, but NOTHING changes this. Other than switching my computer settings themselves to just using one computer (which there's no way in the world I'm going to change my computer settings that I use normally (I'm a graphic designer and NEED the two monitor setting) just to play a game.


Why won't this work? With WoW, with LOTRO, with EVERY computer game I've played in the 21st century, it's a no brainer. What am I missing on settings that's making this happen this way?

Run the game in Windowed mode but don't run it Full Screen. Leave yourself a buffer zone on the right side of the game so that you don't get into that area area of the screen that throws your cursor onto the other monitor.

Those other games are most likely using DirectX for the graphics instead of OpenGL. The OpenGL portion of the drivers may not be correctly interpreting how to work with multiple monitors and getting that odd area at the edge of the screen.
