Making a TW/DA Brute

Ive never played a brute and a few years back I used to have a BS/DA scrapper and loved it.

So I think a DA Brute with a huge weapon should be some awesome fun.

Ive been told its going to be a pain in the *** for a while but Im pretty sure I can get through it. Figured Id spend some points and get the stamina and health enhancements off the store for some help.

So I wanted to know do I cram as much end reduction as I can while leveling? And is there any skippable abilities in TW? I figured the defensive sweep would be essential in my early levels.

I prett much took everything in da on my scrapper and I figure Im doing the same on brute.

I just leveled one.

You have to be aware its really, really, really hard on endo. DA has 0 endo tools, TW is endo hungry. TW is basicly unsustainable on endurance before you score x3 proc shifters with Energy Mastery OR unless you are Regen/WP/Elec.
TW/DA is even worste. Right now I have a temporary build with the 3 proc shifters, Mirable, Numina and no purples.
I just scored T4 Ageless (no Agility yet) and its fine for one minute than its abit harsh on non-stop action (AVs or chain spawn). It should be ok with 2 or 3 purple 4%rec and Agility (or just Cardiac but I'm not going that way).

On the paper DA is amazing. Nearly 50% all resist and a small edge on def so its easier to hit caps, the best heal in the game and CC auras. From a defensive point of view its arguably the best you can find.
It has no hole. No psy hole, no toxic hole, no weakness to regen debuffs. The only thing you dont have it DDR but noone has high res AND DDR (not yet at least).

As for the skippable.
Defensive Sweep is skippable on a defense type build but it offers a LotG option.
Crushing Blow is Skippable if you use Gloom instead but you are probably going to go for Cardiac.
Titan Sweep is skippable but its a very good AoE and I wouldnt unless I go for TW/FA.

Here's a build...it's pricey...but extremely good.

Definitely saving that bad boy.

Another tip is to get the theft of essence proc as soon as possible. It will help keep Dark Regen from draining you every time you use it.

One 4 pts KB protection will help you alot, acrobatics costs too many slots and will gimp the build. If you notice, my build has 10 pts KB protection...6 of iot comes from the 2 places I have Fury of the Gladiator 3 slotted and 4 of it comes from 1 IO. You will still get knocked back some, but not nearly as much with 10 pts KB protection

I have a tw/da that I got to about 37 or so. I went to other projects I found more interesting at the time. I will come back to this eventually because of the concept I created for my toon. The combo is pretty beastly on paper, but I am also terrified of the end use. I am also a little unclear on which auras to keep on my build as I have only done da once and deleted it at about 30 on a tanker.

The posters here have given solid advice- no matter how you cut it, you are going to have to build very carefully around endurance management with this combo.

My TW/DA brute is only L25, but I've been pretty satisfied with his endurance performance so far. However, I have the Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regeneration, and a PerfShifter proc in Stamina. I've also totally ignored damage enhancement in the attacks, instead focusing on endurance reduction. May not work for everyone, but I find that with Fury, his damage is just fine for me. I also run at -1/x3, and that seems to also help.
