Beast/FF build help please
Here are some issues and questions.
1. I have no clue what if anything these pets offer you. As an example Protector bot offers you a Defense bubble, Thugs give you defenses via leadership, Demons resistances. I have no clue what if anything Beast does. I am assuming its all about the dps with them.
2. Force Field. I have no way of saying this beyond it just sucks. Its boring as heck. The only and only reason I have a Robot FF is first I had no clue how boring it was and secondly when I sort of decided to bring him out of retirement was because at that time you could Base Raid and I was part of a VG that would have weekly base raids. The bubbles where big for defense and offense because of the Force Bubble. Not may players has anything to prevent me from pushing them back. So hiding around a corner I could literally close off a hallway. I also had Teleport foe which was used to TP enemy and then the Brute would beat the snot out of them along with my robots.
3. Just about every Force Field player is pretty much the same with Aid Self to heal the pets and Aid Other for themselves. Granted you don't have that but it is obvious your still learning how even IOs work and how to get the most out of set bonuses. What you will come to learn very fast eventually is you have nothing to heal your pets. So you will resort to Aid Other and Aid Self.
4. Defense wise you will be short of defense cap I think for both you and the pets or maybe you just might be capped out.
5. Endurance will always be an issue because of the toggles you will be running. So your pretty much Pigeon holed into Cardiac for the Alpha.
I would honestly hold off on this to see what i24 brings. Maybe Nature affinity if it comes to masterminds might be better or the new 5th powers in the power pools might give you something to look at as well.
But regardless of all of the above let me go over some mistakes your making.
Luck of the Gambler is being over slotted. At most use 3. +Recharge, Defense and Defense/Endurance or Defense/Recharge for non toggle powers.
Fortify pack seems very much over slotted. You have the Numina Proc in that so it only goes off when you use that power. If you put in health it will have a chance to go off every 6 second.
Honestly I don't even know if you need that much recharge for Force Field. probably hasten and 2 LOTG + recharge might just do the work. I think you will be slotting Gift of the Ancients more then LOTG for the endurance bonuses anyways.
You want the endurance you recover to be at a minimum of 2 points higher then the endurance you use. So if your using 2 points of endurance you best be recovering 4. You could recover less but you would some sort of other endurance recover power like Power Sink to get back endurance. Unfortunately you don't have access to those powers as a mastermind.
Going back to set bonuses again. Tactics should be slotted with 6 slots of Gaussian for the plus 2 to all defenses if anything.
When using IOs you should be working towards something. That something can be defense, recharge, recovery, regeneration or mix of of one or two. Right now you don't have much going on that standard SOs wouldn't do.
Since your going Force Field the logical step would be to try to cap out some of your defenses. So that is where you probably should be working towards with set bonuses.
But in the end I would steer away from Force Field and maybe go towards dark or time or even traps, though I get theme wise beast traps can be tough concept.
1. Why Soft Cap is Important : http://dechskaison.blogspot.com/2011...important.html
2. Limits: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Limits
3. Attack Mechanics: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Attack_Mechanics
4. Rule of Five: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Rule_o...e_Law_of_Fives
Here is a build that might be more serviceable. It would work well enough in terms of slot placement and power picks as you level. However, you can either have SOs or IOs in the slots eventually. This is one possible IO build for the end-game. For better or worse, I stuck with the power pools and epics that you had selected.
I will say that since the Beasts cant really heal themselves, you could always consider a build with Aid Self and Aid Other. As it is, you have to re-summon, or rely on defense and healing/regen or whatever it is from Fortify Pack (and I am not that familiar on whether its good or not).
But what the heck, here is a build that might help, in which I shot for end-game defense soft-capping (just barely) for you.

I noticed in your build theres no MM atio set does the set not grant good enough bonuses to be worth it?
To Plainguy i chose ff cause i wanted my pets to be the focus not the mm itself plus it gives me more pets in terms of team mates in hamster balls like they should be heh and thanks for the advice in what to build towards.

The Mastermind Attuned IO set is fine, I guess. But one key thing to remember about sets is this:
There is no reason to chase set bonuses you don't want.
So then the question becomes, what set bonuses should you want?
That is where opinion starts to vary, and that is where you have to decide what your goals are. But putting in the purple pet set or the MM ATIO set or a Luck of the Gambler set ... simply because they are "good" ... well that doesn't mean anything. Those sets all provide very different bonuses. Having a little bit of 20 different little bonuses isnt really going to do much.
So in my case, since the primary concern of /Force Fields is defense, I focused on Defense. Now, it is true that one of the bonuses for the MM ATIO set is AOE defense for pets, and you could certainly try to factor that in. However, I personally value my OWN defense above my pets' defense, though I like to boost both. If you look at the character "totals" in MIDS, the Ranged and AOE defense for the player are both around 45%, which is the "soft cap" that is so nice to hit (it leaves most foes with only about a 5% chance to hit you. 50% base chance, minus 45% which is the soft cap the game allows, leaving a 5% chance, at least in a very quick crude description. It can get more complicated than that in reality).
Now, I could certainly focus more on the defense of my pets. With the build I posted, since I was trying to keep the pool powers and epics you selected, I had some constraints. I could have put the Edict of the Master defense IO for pets in one of my pets (affects all of them) and the MM ATIO in another pet. BUT THE DOWNSIDE to that is that then I would lose a LOT of my personal defense. I decided that for the build I would post, I would focus on MY defense.
That is why I didn't take the MM ATIO. The goals I selected for the build were not really helped by that set. So I took a different set.
There are always other approaches you can take. If I were trying to min-max defense values, I would plan on becoming a villain at some point and taking the Mace Mastery Pool from Black Scorpion's patron arc (which you can do as a villain at level 35+). That way, my smashing/lethal defense would also be higher if I took Scorpion shield instead of bonfire, and then I could also squeeze in Power Boost which more or less doubles (or close to double) the power of certain abilities for a short time. So you could click power boost and then cast deflection shield and insulation shield on your pets for even better defenses, all while still maintaining personal defenses. The trade-off would be that you wouldnt have as much area damage.
A different player might find a way to work in Aid Other and Aid Self so you can heal your pets. It is commonly done. I could have done so. There are always options.
So in a way, while I provided a build, it was just to show one thing that CAN be done. You might not know what you WANT to do until you've done it. What that means is, sure, you can have a build in mind as you play, but dont worry about it TOO much. As you get more experience, you will find your own preferences and then you'll have the ability to more effectively implement your choices, and you'll be able to focus your questions better. Eventually instead of asking "What do I do?" you will be able to ask "I want to aim for goal X, is it a better approach to do this, or to do that?"
You may even decide to try a different primary or a different secondary at some point.
So get out there, saddle up, summon some wolves, and see how it goes.
Have fun!
Lewis

This is my first time trying to build a mm and have no idea what im doing. Im in the dark as to what io sets to take any help would be appriecated. Also first time trying to export mids data so if it looks messed up go ahead and point and laugh. I would like my build to be able to do incarnate content.
