Staff Fighting and Forms

How big are the self-buffs from the various Perfections in Staff Fighting? I don't see the numbers on the wiki, or City of Data, and when I tried activating Forms and Perfections in Mids' it didn't seem to affect any of the numbers listed.

The percentages are listed under the Combo Levels in Mids when you activate one of the forms.

Form of the Mind: 4%/9%/15% Recharge
Form of the Soul: 6.6%/16.5%/33% Endurance Discount
Form of the Body: 5%/11.25%/18.75% Damage

I thought I had checked everything, I'll have to take another look when I get home.

Thanks!

I'm planning on rolling a Staff/Dark brute, and was planning on using Soul to help offset the early Endurance woes of Dark Armor. With the equivalent of an SO in every power (most of the time), that should be very handy.

Don't know if I would say it's that big/frequent (I keep using the AoE finisher) but it definitely helps. Also good if you can grab a Theft of Essence proc for Dark regen.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.

I'm mostly worried about the REALLY early levels, when I've got three survival toggles, a damage aura, and three attacks, only 1-3 slots in each, and am JUST starting to use DOs. I solo a lot, so I can't rely on teams and TFs to help me blow through the early levels.

Already got one. I've been trying to make a Dark Armor brute for ages, and I think I finally hit on a Primary I enjoy with it.

I've really motored through the early levels so far on my first Staff character. The flexibility of the forms really helps -- I usually run Body for damage, but after I got Practiced Brawler and before I could slot it with SOs, I ran Mind to help keep PB active; and I switch to Soul on long AV fights.

But the real reason Staff has been leveling quickly is the early availability of significant AoE. I've been mowing them down in bulk compared to, say, Super Strength or Martial Arts or Dark Melee, which are mostly or entirely single-target until later.

I'm on a Dark/Staff tanker, so I actually have to wait until 20 to get Soul -- but my plan is similar. My endurance troubles are manageable; the biggest problem is of course Dark Regeneration. I recommend early IOs and heavy slotting on that... I usually plan to respec at high levels, since there's such a difference between SOs and vanilla IOs and set slotting (even if you plan around exemping).

I rolled a staff/DA brute when the set was released. He was a pleasure to level up. I think I ran DFB to 22 for SOs though so I'm not sure how he will run with just DOs or before you get forms.

When I played him I did pretty much always use the single target finisher for the regen/recovery instead of using the aoe finisher and it kept my blue and green bars in good condition through most of my leveling experience. I started IOing for s/l defense in the 30s and he was rock solid. I took him up to 46 and then switched to another project (mostly just because I already had several melee characters). He was a pleasure to play and the staff form made a HUGE difference in end consumption.
