Interface and minmaxing.

I dont really understand this "new" rule or 4 proc maximum, back in the time it was just Reactive all the way but if let say you play with the same players, is it meaningfull to have different procs?

Whats the impact of Degenerative btw?

The 4 stack maximum was always there it is not something new. It was just reactive was only DoT and other debuff's were resisted too much to be useful so people didn't bothered with getting other interfaces except for concept.

Degenerative has higher dps output on most mobs than reactive because of -max HP isn't resisted and its DoT toxic is close to reactives DoT fire while toxic is least resisted damage type in the game. Only exception to this I know are incarnate AV's which counted as elite boss of same level but having huge purple patches it drops degeneratives debuff significantly while reactives debuff doesn't change much. However degen is still second best dps interface against AV's even with this handicap and close to reactive.

For your questions. 2 or 3 player having same interface and attacking same AV or GM is enough to keep it at maximum stack for the duration of fight. In an 8 man team it is usually better to get three or four different interface (preferably DoT ones) so most of stack won't go wasted. Same for up to 16 player leagues for 24 player leagues well it depends no personal choices and on trial I guess.

For players characters, maybe, but last I checked not so for NPCs.

But still, Degenerative is good.

I checked various AV (except incarte AV's since power analyser wont work on trials) in-game since against anything lower than EB it is not a big difference anyway and most of them have lower toxic resist even if the difference is slight.

the 4 stack max is only for the debuff, DoT from interfaces have higher stack limits i think around 8

and the question i be posing to you for min maxing, what are you planning to do? if you are looking to do a lot of tough target fighting (AVs, GMs, ect) then you do NOT want anything that does a debuff, it will be resisted out the wazoo

if your just going for general gameplay (mostly fighting minion through boss) then any of them will work great and you should get something to either cover a weakness or play to a strength

nope DoT's maximum stack is 6 unless they changed it.

Well minion to bosses being a non-issue (actually the combo of Rad blast + Psy blast Banished Pantheon bosses caused me some nasty death lately, no DDR, low Psy res - ootchies) i'm mostly talking about AVs.

While this thread is here I have another question: was cancel-on-miss introduced to the dots at some point? Previously you could see a tick of the dot fail to fire but the next tick would still go off. Now it seems the dots are behaving like fire, in that if one tick misses the rest fail. This is a big difference in terms of dps...

Hmm I need to check this but I remember a couple of weeks ago it was working like it may miss a few checks than fire again so if it is cancel-on-miss it is new.

wel maybe both are correct you know 8's %75 (which is DoT's firing chance) is 6. I admit I didn't extensively tested it and I frankly not sure how to test this correctly.
