Get an AE license, upgrade, or run door missions, maybe?
AE has also been nerfed quite a bit.

If you can handle +2/x8 on your main account, PL the way we used to back in the day.
They squashed the majority of the AE exploits, so using it really wouldn't be much faster than normal missions anymore.

Steamrolling DFB, DiB, and any TF you can get into. Doesn't matter if you exemplar down to do them, you still get XP and you level almost as fast as any AE farm. It's good to be the one who can speed-stealth those missions that don't have a lot of large spawns to mow down; and to have a speedy travel power and Recall friend, Assemble, and Team Teleporter to keep your teammates from slowing you down; and to be the one that forms them so they follow your pace.
Find your server's TF recruitment channel if they have one.

It depends on whether you want to PL the F2P account or create a toon on the F2P account to PL your VIP toons.
If the former, portal missions are still your best bet. The F2P toon gets full XP and your VIP account can make full use of IO's and Incarnate powers to be a better/faster farmer.
If the latter, my recommendation is to build a Fire/Kin on the F2P account, PL that to 50 using door/portal missions, and then create an old-school SO-only build. Fire/Kins did just fine with SO-only builds back before Freedom launched and they still do well today, particularly on the outdoor city/council map. Then that map plus that F2P toon becomes your method to PL other toons on either other F2P accounts or on your main VIP account.
You can build a brute on SO's only for F2P purposes, and it can farm/PL, but it will be hard to achieve the speed of a Fire/Kin on SO's only.
Go get Unai Kemen as a contact and run one of his portal missions against an enemy group you're comfortable with, clear the map, rinse repeat.

I just got back to the game after a 3 year break, got my main account VIP but how do you powerlevel a f2p account?
I noticed you dont get xp in AE on a f2p account.
So.. how is it done now?
