Suggestion: RESPECIFICATION
Should the Dev's make any sort of "tray effort", I'd love to seem them find away that we can save the current tray layout before "we" start your respec. I know this isn't a new idea, nor even my idea, but I still think it's a great idea.

Much like Aggelakis, I don't put my powers in the trays that way. I don't even put them in the trays in the order I take them.

Well, I really don't like your proposal of primary/one, secondary/two, pool/three. My powers go *all over* the place, and some of them don't come out onto the board at all. Tadaaaaaa, not everything has a prime solution!
/cleartray gets us both to the same starting point, and there doesn't need to be any extra coding done; it already exists. |
Hahahaha. I logged in to see just how screwy my trays are. This is on my emp/arch/pow defender:
TRAY ONE: secondary, secondary, secondary, secondary, secondary, primary, vet, epic, secondary, inherent TRAY TWO: pool1, pool2, primary, [empty], vet, vet, primary, primary, primary, primary TRAY THREE: epic, epic, vet, primary, primary, [empty], pool2, pool2, pool2, pool3 FLOATING TRAY FOUR: pool3 [travel], purchase, purchase, vet, vet, dayjob, ouro, vet, vet FLOATING TRAY FIVE: purchase, accolade, purchase, purchase, purchase, temp, vet, vet, temp, purchase |
I normally take screenshots of my power trays but you have to use /screenshotui 1 and then click on something in one of the trays and then keep the cursor down there in the first 3 trays - (I tend to use Sands of Mu because it puts you into a visible 'fight stance' then I'll hover my cursor over a power, like one I'm changing or whatever), otherwise none of the UI will show.
I don't have anything other software on here that would do screenshots of the game-screen... AFAIK.
Seems like they could work out a way in-game for us to take screenshots of the Enhancement Management Window-thingy = the Powers/Slots/IO's Screen... To avoid the having to "write it all down" method, OR "just try to remember method" of re-slotting during &/or after a Respec.
City of Heroes didn't fail, City of Heroes was killed. If a 747 dropped on your house, you'd say you were killed, not you failed to find a safer dwelling.

I did a second build on one of my 50,s yesterday it took me all morning, next time I have one of these (wonderful ideas) I will fire up the laptop just so I have the mids build in front of me.It was a truly time consuming job,the worst part was slotting trying to get a bit more defense and resistance into the build.I was at least successful in that tried it out last night on a flashback and all went well.
Prof Radburn controller,Celtic Ice Maiden, blaster,Miss Knockout scrapper,Mistress Davina controller,Stone Hart, tank Split Personality PB.Queen Lostris controller,Fridgid Mary blaster,Shocking Fire blaster Future Elfling defender, Little Weed controller,Capo Angelo MM, Commander Buzzsaw MM, Justice Tank tank all 50,s
For my melee characters, primary on Tray 1 and secondary on Tray 2 mostly works (except for Tankers), but for my other characters - forget it.
I generally put attacks and heals on Tray 1, defensive toggles and long-cooldown click-buffs on tray 2, and travel powers (Fly, Ouro portal, possibly a Market teleport power, etc) and other miscellaneous stuff on tray 3, regardless of what pools they're from. (The exact layout varies from character to character, of course)
When I'm doing respecs, I tend to just open Notepad and make a few quick notes (a list of powers, how many slots in each, and name of IO set if any in each) before I start.
SECONDARY POWERS IN TRAY TWO.
POOLS IN TRAY THREE.
I also don't put Primary's in tray one, Secondary's in tray two, etc. so this idea would be totally useless to me. I have unique tray set ups for each character which is determined by which indiviual powers get used the most.
The only standard set up I have on every character is the bottom most tray where I keep my travel powers.
Sprint-Ninja/Beast Run-Jump Pack-Travel Power-Pocket D TP-etc. ending with Rest.
