Semi-Nightly Mo iTrial Runs!

Hyperstrike

Hey all, @Thirty-Seven here!

I have been forming Mo runs most every evening I can find enough people interested (along with Hyperthermic (@Sagebrush) these past few evenings). So far I have nabbed (and helped others to nab) a great many of the iTrial badges. Its great fun to break out of the standard model for Trials and shoot for badges.

As such, I wanted to let the Justice forumites who may not always watch JU or JFA know about these semi-nightly "events." I say semi- because I can't commit to run them -every- night, ya know?

I usually get online around 7 PM Eastern and start forming sometime thereafter.

Lately my focus has been on getting those ellusive Keyes badges, but I will (and do) run other trials for badges to break up the monotony! So, if you are looking for some badges, please watch for the announcements in JU, JFA and likely LFG as well when I get these rolling. If there are particular badges you want, lemme know!

Also, I will likely be looking in on this thread to look for folks who want in and also posting here about our victories.

Might be "bi-nightly". Semi indicates you're running them every part of an evening.

HEIL WEBSTER!

Wouldn't binightly either mean "twice each night" or "every other night"? Neither of which is completely accurate. I used "semi-" in the sense of "somewhat, almost" which is atested as an accepted meaning in the dictionary I just checked.

At any rate, thanks for your interest in Justice iTrials!

Bi: Two (Biannual)

Semi: Half (Semi-annual.)

=)

Who knows. I have a 50 on almost every server. I may stop by. =)

Sounds good to me!

Logging in now folks, think I will start off with Bunker Buster and Loves A Challenge for Keyes and then maybe a Lambda for a badge or two and then back to Keyes. Depends what folks want to do when I get a League together though.

Woot!

We were able to grab both Bunker Buster and Loves A Challenge tonight and got ridiculous close to getting Avoids the Green Stuff.

Oh well, perhaps tomorrow... and then it's off to the Magisterium to nab those badges. Feel free to come on over to Justice and join us (especially if you have Incandescence).

So now you're trying to win my argument for me? Thanks.

What?

You are saying semi- means half... I am saying it frequently also means "somewhat." That is how I used it in the title of the thread. What they heck are you trying to say then?

However, all of this is quite tangent to the point of this thread...

No, it means "somewhat" as in "partial" or "fractional".

Semi-automatic. Partially automatic.
Semi-dettached. Partially dettached.
Semi-sophisticated. Partially sophisticated.

Semi-daily doesn't mean every other day or every few days. It means every few parts of a single day.

But hey. Don't take my word for it.
Take it to any high school english teacher and watch him agree with me.

While english usage is somewhat "loose", it's not "use any word whatsoever and it's okay".

Sorry this small correction (which was intended to be humorous in the beginning) has dragged your thread so far off-topic.

Head Librarian in our school district was an English Teacher for her first 40 or so years in the School District.

She says Semi-nightly is technically correct, but not the best wording for this usage.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Thanks, TJ!

[Edit: In light of the horse below, I must amend the above.]

'Bout to log in to form up for a few runs... I still have my eye on Avoids the Green Stuff... but might be persuaded to go for other badges as well! See ya in a few.

Did two full runs, got some folks Anti-AM and Bunker Buster... but still no Green.

I will definitely be doing some more Leagues for this.

[Edit: That run was... less than amazing. We did get some people Bunker Buster though.]
