Playing from Afghanistan

Just to give you the developers a heads up. It is really great that I get connectivity enough to play while I'm deployed. I'm hooked!!!

The one problem I run into is the updates. When you guys put out a big update it takes me a very long time to download because of the limited bandwidth I have here (160KBS). So if you can, try to build the updates in smaller downloads for all of us deployed gamers.

First off, thanks for being out there on the pointy edge of things, try not to backstop any bullets. Unlike your toons, the lowest bidders for military contracts haven't got mediporters yet.

Second, unfortunately, updates are kinda that way. There's not a lot they can do without COMPLETLEY changing how their packaging system works.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Hey Crazy Mike! You rock man! But like Hyperstrike said, I don't think it's likely that the deployment of updates can be easily modified. I'm pretty sure that it is more in NCSoft's hands than Paragon Studios.

how long does it take a pouch to get to you from EU/JP? If you know somebody on the same continent with normal internet, then they could burn a current image of the game onto a DVD-R and send em to you ('cause data costs you $$$ right?). Then it's just a matter of verifying files.

Crazy Mike, first off, thank from the bottom of my heart for what you are doing.I love the idea of a real life hero playing one in this great game! Thanks again, and enjoy CoH.
