Has anyone done a broadsword/willpower scrapper. If so how did you develope it?

I did. She rocks. Definitely a favorite of mine. I'll try and see if I can find her build and post it for you..


But, the basics are.... Parry. Use it, master it, love it. Then push your regen and max HP as far as you can. Get solid base def all around, and you'll be stupid tough.

QFT, although I'd probably say "build for S/L and E/N defense FIRST, then make sure to boost regen and max HP, and then Parry as needed." Same things, different order.

Here's what I did for my BS/WP scrapper back in Issue 19 -- before the Scrapper's Strike ATOs,and before Gladiator's Armors came down in price. I'm sure I'd probably do things a little bit differently today (take, for example, the three BotZs in Flight -- that's a holdover from when I [stupidly] tried to build willpower with positional defenses instead of typed defenses. Typed works a LOT better with willpower!)

Still, I followed the same general gameplan I used for my DB/WP main, my WP/DB tank, my katana/WP scrapper, and a few others, and it worked out fairly well.

I agree with typed working better for WP almost across the board, but for BS, not as much. You can ignore S/L a lot more.

I think I'd build a good base defense, then try to push E/N and Ranged with the sets. Energy is often also ranged, and most Ranged S/L happens to be Lethal more than Smashing. Parry Pushes Melee and Lethal. So, if you get a decent base, and only cap lethal and melee you're going to be good a lot of times. If sets also push e/n and Ranged, you'll be even better.

Smart play fixes most of the rest. Close with the few ranged based smashers, putting them into melee (or just kill em 1st). Most AOE won't be too bad, as it's oftenweaker damage wise, and you'll be regenning like mad if you're in a crowd. If you're not in a crowd, close with the AOEers. And a lot of the most scary AOE for most folks is the Psy AoE, which WP laughs at.


Couldn't find my build, but I threw something together fairly quick. It's expensive, but certainly not as expensive as a lot of builds you'll see on the forums...

But, as ElDorado has said, and I'm paraphrasing here, there are many viable builds. A more traditional s/l/e/n is also very doable. I just prefer not to because that loses a lot of the benefit of parry.

This is jsut an example of how you could build that way. I'm sure it can be improved, and I KNOW you can make a very viable WP using serveral other build strategies.

The basics are, for any WP Build, lots of regen and +Max HP, and then also other stuff on defense. And that usually mean 'Defense' much more than Resistance. Do those things, and you'll be solid.

BS/WP is stupid tough. Even before I knew how to IO properly (i.e. build for anything in particular), I was the last one standing 99% of the time in team wipe situations. If you build it well, as in for (e/ne) defense, Health, regen you will make your standard Tanker or Brute sob as they hit the dirt (not their Willpower or Stone variants, but still ).
