Is it possible to suppress other's FX?
Have you tried reducing the particle settings?
Menu -> Options -> Graphics and Audio tab -> Max Particle Count
Advanced Graphic Settings probably needs to be enabled.

No, it's not the particle count (which I do have to minimum). It's the lighting effects, such as the sonic bubbles and stuff like that. There seems to be no way to change that, they're at full no matter what, and in a trial it's literally blinding.
I've noticed that, too. And try as I might, I can't find a way to do this. I'll not swear to it, but I'm fairly sure the answer is..
No.
Sadly.
It is possible to remove graphic fx on a case by case basis, but I'm not sure who has the tools anymore and it requires messing around in places we do not mention.
I did it once a couple years ago for the sonic bubbles but that solution doesn't work anymore (I probably should remove the links and files).

I am on a little laptop with a little video chip and I am getting blinded and killed by other people's lighting effects (sonic bubbles being the biggest PITA). I know and use the FX suppression for my own characters, but is there a command to suppress other's FX so I can see what's going on and take that stress off of my lappy? Thanks! =)
