If so what's to stop someone from creating new accounts just to get 5 super packs for a dollarand then repeating?

i dont think the 400 points would apply right away, but at the end of the free month which would be the next bill date if they continued the account

its been awhile since i looked at what comes with the VIP starter kit since i dont need it as im already VIP

Most of the stuff in super packs is not tradable. A dollar for a couple ATOs and whatever a level 1 character can buy with ~100 reward merits doesn't sound like a very exciting deal to me.

i think the ATOs were what they were looking at since they basically are the only tradeable things, but thats technically still a roll of the dice with super packs

and lvl 1 toons cant do anything with reward merits, i think you have to be at least 10 to get IOs

I don't really care, just curious. I had the urge to buy a super pack back when I first reinstalled the game but lost it when I saw ATOs were on the market for inf too.

One deterrent was that super packs are only sold in points and points come in multiples of $5 minimum. This is a straight dollar value purchase.

I might just roll a second account and play through the VIP story arcs and then let it lapse.

The 400 points are the same as the 400 points that any other VIP gets. As such, they should award with the activation of the account. Of course, if point awarding is still wonky (It's supposed to be fixed now, but I haven't had my subscription date come up since that announcement), it may come a bit later, but points are never supposed to come at the end of the month; only Reward Tokens are.

The SSA arcs have minimum levels, by the way, starting at 10 for the first one and as high as 40 for the last three episodes. That would unfortunately make it difficult to play through them quickly with a new account, unless you're REALLY good at leveling quickly and/or get a friend to PL you.

I was not aware, thanks for that info. I can probably just PL to their minimums with this account so it shouldn't be a problem as long as my computer can handle two instances of the game.

Are the SSA's solo friendly? I'd probably run through on some flavor of offensive defender.

Yes, the SSAs are soloable by pretty much any half-decent build, especially if you use inspirations intelligently.

If the 99c deal here works the same way it did over the holidays, yes you'll get the 400 points up front, NOT at the end of the month (At least all of my extra accounts did - I used the free VIP month to get half of my extra accounts to level 20 and switch them to vigilante, so that I'd have fillers to start story arcs villain side, which typically only require four characters, but still have a stable of eight characters to meet the steeper requirements for starting the hero side TFs). Every one of my new accounts got the 400 points right up front. And right as the accounts reverted to premium, I got the second reward merit (which meant that as premium accounts, they had trades activated, more chat channels available, etc.) It was actually a very sweet deal for 99c a pop - way more useful to me than if I'd been forced to make 7 extra free accounts.

To be honest, if they did some sort of 'reactivate a premium account for a month for 99c' deal (which I doubt they'd do), say every six months or so, they'd probably get another $3-$7 or so from me on occasion for those extra accounts whenever they did the deal (depending on how many of my extra accounts I think I'd be actively playing to work on leveling up during that month).

I doubt they ever would, mind you.

How about a "Reactivate a Premium account for free, once every 3 months" deal?

The Referral deal can be used on any account that has been inactive for 3 months or more (including Premium accounts, even ones that have previously used a Referral code). When you use the Referral code, the invited friend (ie, your Premium account) reactivates for the regular $15 cost and gets a 500 point bonus, and the invitee (ie your main account) gets a month of free game time.

Just stagger which accounts you are referring, and each Premium account will get one month of VIP time + 500 bonus points out of every four months, while your main account continues as it is right now, at no extra cost.

This was a tempting purchase until I realized that it likely only works on new accounts. IE: I couldn't purchase it and have it re-VIP my 2nd acct, etc.

Too many credit card purchases (like 4 i think) and you typically have to contact support to allow the transaction. This might slow down creation of lots of accounts/

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

I didn't have that particular problem on the Cyber Monday deals - there must have been 7 or 8 separate transactions using the card... but that may have been specific to Cyber Monday.
