Question about Master Minds and pets in general...

Do your pets benefit from +Dam set bonuses? I mean, the pet purple set gives +Dam when you four slot it and now here comes the Master Mind archetype set giving you +Dam with just two slots. So for the longest time I've thought pets benefited from +Dam bonuses and made builds accordingly.

Then my room mate tells me it don't work that way and then I actually check the stats of my pets on my MM and sure enough, no mention of a +Dam there.

Now I'm hoping that it just applies directly to the pet's powers. At least, that's what I want to hear anyway.

+dmg set bonuses only apply to the mastermind and not the pets, infact I think pretty much no set bonuses get passed to the pet. lol at the ATO set

The only Invention bonuses that apply to pets are the ones that explicitly state it, such as the +Res and +Def auras from Sovereign Right and Edict of the Master, respectively (although those are special IOs rather than proper set bonuses). Also the Taunt/Placate resist from Commanding Presence (lol) and, perhaps more germane to your question, the Chance for Build-Up from Soulbound Allegiance, which explicitly affects the pets the enhancement is slotted in, and not you when it procs.

However, it should be noted that while all of what I said is true, most of the above was actually a smokescreen for me to comment on how bizarre your sig is. Seriously, what the hell man.

Absolutely nothing that counts as a Set Bonus applies to pets in any way. The Sovereign Right, Command of the Mastermind, Call to Arms, Expedient Reinforcement, Commanding Presence and Edict of the Master Uniques actually grant you powers which work basically like Supremacy.

They do benefit from procs, but the caveat is that for the proc to be applied to any given attack they have, that attack would have to accept the proc itself. For example, Thugs' tier 1 pet can take Knockdown procs, but they're awful in them because they only have one attack with a chance to knock down. Conversely, all but one of the Bruiser's attacks have a chance for knockdown, which makes KD procs great in him.

Alpha and Interface benefit pets directly because they function as enhancements rather than global bonuses (read: set bonuses or buffs).

@Draeth Darkstar
Virtue [Heroes, Roleplay], Freedom [Villains], Exalted [All Sides, Roleplay]
Code:
I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30))
Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.

It's pretty much a disgrace that both purple pet sets waste a set bonus on damage buffs that offer MMs jack and squat when there is no pvp pet set, and no pet set damage procs
