What to pair with newly-improved Gravity Control?

I always liked Propel even before they significantly improved it...and improve it they did:

  • Added a bonus mechanic to player versions of Lift and Propel. These powers now deal a small amount of additional damage, called "Impact!", to targets recently held by any player's Gravity Distortion power.
  • Reduced the cast time of Propel from 3.5 seconds down to 2.07 seconds.
  • Quickened the projectile speed of Propel.
  • The portal and random objects in Gravity Control - Propel now spawn in front of the caster, instead of directly at their feet.
  • Color-customized Propel projectiles now properly synchronize with the power's in-game effects.

Therefore I conclude it's time I made a Gravity Controller.

The question is, what to pair with it? I have an older Grav/Storm on hiatus at level 12 that I could pick up, but I also want to make a new dark/ Controller, and Local Man made a pretty compelling case for dark/Storm here.

So perhaps I should seek variety. What else would folks recommend to pair with Gravity? The Controller should be capable of soloing, although also teaming. Strictly PVE.

Trick Arrow is a nice combo, at least once you get to level 20 or so. Plus there's rumours afoot that TA is the next in line for a pass from the devs (based on the "Make me an Ice/TA build" competition from last week).

Grav/TA gives you a nice ranged Controller with some nifty tricks and Singy is relatively Oil Slick safe. TA isn't amazingly powerful but it's certainly soloable (wormholing one spawn into another and then holding them in place and setting fire to them is always fun, and now even easier thanks to Poison Gas Arrow being 100% change of a sleep).

Grav/Dark looks interesting too.

Well, gravity is a high st damage low aoe control set, so I'd recommend anything that is going to help deal with crowds (control, debuffing, or team wide buffs). Dark, storm, time, or ta (I'd wait to see if it gets improved though) would be my first choices. It's worth noting that grav's immob doesn't have -kb, which makes it particularly synergistic with TA (oil slick arrow) and less so with storm's tornado (but helpful with freezing rain).

Speaking of Propel buffs, I missed this one from the subsequent patch:

  • Propel now "splashes" knockdown on three additional targets nearby the primary target, within a 15' radius.
Incidentally, a question about Wormhole. I've never used it, but my understanding of it is you can forcibly teleport a group of enemies to a given location. Is that how it works?

If so, does this change:
  • Wormhole no longer causes targets to attack the user.
offer untapped comedic potential? Could a Grav Controller wormhole a group of enemies into a new location without aggroing them? If so, the possibility of parking serenely unconcerned mobs in humorous or bizarre locations, and simply leaving them there, arises.

yes, baddies not aggroing on user at all is excellent lol

personally i have a grav/dark affinity troller that im loving, i set up a tar patch then wormhole the baddies into it, and the dark servant is great at setting up containment
