I'm pretty sure a VIP has to be a member of a group (at least temporarily) to pay the rent. I'm not sure why it was suggested that non members can pay rent, but that doesn't sound right. As two of us have now noted, even members may not be able to pay rent depending on the permission settings, so non-members with no rank whatsover shouldn't have an option to do it at all. Not even sure how that would work if they could.

Not entirely sure WHY it happens to be set up this way. But there ya go.

It's wrong. Maybe he misread your post or maybe he's drunk.

In order to pay rent for a supergroup, you must:
1) Be a member.
2) Be VIP.
3) Be of sufficient rank. (The rank requirement can be adjusted at will.)

Yeah, Hyperstrike was just ignoring the "not in my sg" part

Yeah, everyone I've heard find out they could still use Epics all had them pre-Freem.

I've helped a couple of people pay Rent in the past couple of months. You may want to Global Friend a few people who are familiar with you on your server and are willing to help you out on an ongoing basis. Anyway, I make a new character that they invite into their SG. So far these people have Teamed me, I guess to monitor where I am and for ease of chatting, but that isn't really necessary if you're already Global Friends. I skip the tutorial and head to the SG Registrar to pay.

As was suggested above, you need to ensure that the lowest rank can pay Rent. And while you're messing with the permissions, you may want to limit what the lowest rank can do. If necessary, have someone you trust to promote your alts up if they're not already. Still, as a courtesy, I quit the SG after I've paid the Rent so there's no question of sticky fingers with the Base storage bins.

Correct, I foobar'ed that. My apologies.

So let me clarify.

Any VIP who is part of your SG and has been given permissions to pay base rent can pay rent.
