I've got nothin'...

Unless someone else has experience with this, you may need to put a call in to customer support.

Doesn't NCLauncher need .NET 2.0 to run? It sounds like a problem with .NET being all wonky.

In this case a full screen shot would probably do wonders...I haven't a clue as to what's even pushing this window to the screen.

More than likely now that you mention it...

You will still need the .NET 2 framework as well if you have any applications which target it - iirc that includes the NCSoft launcher.
Again if you have any which target framework 1 or 4 you will also need those installed.

They are seperate frameworks and applications will generally target one specific one

Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr

Thing is, on a Win7 machine, you can't have 3.51 active if you don't have the stuff for 2.0 on there. I found this out the hard way with a client a while back.

Unless something managed to uninstall 2.0, then that'll be a whole other mess.

at this point, I have tried to create a system restore disk from my laptop, uninstalled and reinstalled .net 4....installed .net 1.1 ...found .net 2.0 refused to install for unknown reasons...followed the instructions on the support list...did a game adviser report, sent it to support....only got back a survey request wondering how I felt about the way support had (not) handled my issue....said survey is probably the first support survey I`ve sent to CoH that was bad

Well, short of a fresh system install, I'd checkout what available troubleshooting is on M$FT's sight. Normally I'd just wipe/redo, but I've been told that I must enjoy torture as a side job or something.

Not to sound silly, but is the install disk custom/legal/etc? When doing a fresh install in XP and you're not using a service pack 3 based disc, then it's possible that you may have to watch your windows updates as there's a known issue that crops up now and then that prevents update from functioning properly. If you're updating via wireless, then it's possible you're getting corrupted/missing packets during the download.

yeah, it is legal...came with the computer delivered by Dell....actually just got it working...full reinstall...that made it difficult to get on the internet...apparently not all the drivers are on the driver disk they gave me...downloaded them on another computer and installed them

now I have an English speaking computer that runs CoH

I am having the same problem, but I don't have the option of going to an English OS because I have some programs that need the Japanese OS to work. They had a similar problem (almost identical) last October or November, which I know because they had a work-around then. Unfortunately, they have changed the system in a manner that they have fixed the work-around, but not the problem. In other words the work-around from last year no longer works, but the problem has popped back into existence.

I loaded .Net 2.0 framework, still not working. I just got this computer two days ago and opened it yesterday. I'm trying to transfer my NCSoft files from my desktop to my laptop.

Another question, will I notice a major change going from 16GB of RAM to 4GB of RAM?
