So I always hated Stalkers...but loved the concept.

With the new changes I'd like to give it another go. I've never built a Stalker so I may have missed something.

Here's my preliminary build...whatcha think? I went for high positional def and I tried to squeeze in as much recharge as I could to get more uptime out of Kuji-in Retsue. I also went for +12 kb resist and put in a Celerity +stealth...but not sure if that's overboard with Hide and Super Speed or not.

I was also considering electric melee...but I named my character Stabby Kat and not sure I wanna come up with a new name :P

First Stalker? Yeah, I can tell.

Okay, there are some things to cover.

Frist of all, you're slotting Kuji-In Sha for Resistance? You shouldn't. It's primarily a self-heal. You want as much recharge and heal, in even amounts, on that as you can. Slotted right it's half your HP healed every 30 seconds or less.

Second of all, get Ninja Reflexes up to par with Danger Sense. Even if Divine Avalanche is good, you want that melee defense.

Also, did you know Kuji-In Retsu takes Blessing of the Zephyr? If that's all you have Hover for, then don't. Just slot one in Retsu.

For additional Stealth, I have one question: Will you PvP? If yes, then more Stealth is good. If no, it's worthless. You're invisible to everything, except then things you're not, in PvE. No amount of stealth will fool a Rikti Drone, but you can stand next to Lord Recluse with basic Hide and he won't see you.

Anyway, since you're using Mids and I've been tinkering with a Nin/Nin of my own for the last week or two, I might as well share the DataLink with you. Not saying to copy it, I've tailored that one to my own taste, after all, but to inspire you a bit, perhaps. I'm sure there's room for improvement in mine, too.

Just a few quick thoughts..

Slotting your heal for resist is just..wrong. Even with spiritual (maybe with vigor, at a pinch). Not only that, but the bonuses 4 four IA's are pretty useless to your build. ANd you have the glad armour +3 def in there, which, while being a LOT cheaper than it was..is still like 300 mil! When you could slot the steadfast +3% def for like 5 mil.

Also, you have 3 purple sets. Not that they are bad in any way, but I would say that getting to the soft cap of a defence build comes BEFORE stupid amounts of rech..and that build has stupid amounts. Aside from BU, sha and retsu, nothing you have really NEEDS insane amounts of recharge. For instance, detoggling the alpha..4 seconds slower for your heal, 5 for bu. Unless you are trying to solo a pylon (doubtfull since you arent soft capped) you wont notice that.

As an aside..I recently respeced my dm/nin into that weapon pool, just to test. The projectile speed on exploding shuriken is RUBBISH. Felt like it took forever to land..if you were expecting a quick fire bang like fireball..be ready to feel let down. Also, it is all lethal damage..an epic that gave you a different damage type, to offset lethal's heavy resistance, would serve you better.

You are alos slotting a BoTZ -kb in cj. Assuming you already HAVE the IO, ok. But again..you could get a karma kb for muuuch less, and save the Blessing for a build with no def slots?

I'd also say the miracle rec would be more useful for the slot that the Numi + is in..regen is pretty crappy on a low hp toon. Just checked..the regen goes down about 1.1hp per sec with that..you wont notice.

An acc IO in smoke flash instead...the rech is ok and you wont need it a heap..you dont want it too miss.

Caltrops..do you REALLY use it enough to justify 6 slots, just for a def bonus?

Placate..a lot less uesful than before we got the ato proc..but still worth it, it something nasty is attacking you and wont stop. Still decent with a single slot.

Moved some slots around, out of CJ (+def in there doesnt do as much as MORE slots in your 1st major toggle), swapped panacea for numi (cheaper) and put the kismet in hide so it never goes off.

Got rid of gamblers cut, with one upgraded ato..what a waste!

Fire epic for..fire damage! And a super quick firing aoe if you want to go for aoe crits. Oh and a hold for sappers etc.

Swapped Oblit set for SD..less rech, yes, but dont forget aoe def on a position based build, especially a stalker. Once hide gets sup'd, you no longer have that massive aoe bonus..and stuff will land.

Switching to nerve alpha..you dont want to be missing, and slotting for defence often leaves powers short on acc. And the +def portion..gets you over the 45% soft cap..not far from the 56 incarnate cap.

Slotted Sha for HEALING (duh!) and aoe def.

Kept caltrops cause..I dunno.
(Just noticed..mag 8 kb prot will be fine for 99% of things. Still put the stealth IO in sprint)
Sorry to redo your build entirely..a bit of an extreme critique?

Here is my take on Nin/Nin. I have a KM/Nin so I'm very familair with Nin secondary. Can't go wrong with high defense so if u get debuffed u got room to work with. Using Tough only as set mule for the 2 (3% defense procs). I also went with the Agility Alpha for the extra recharge and defense buff. Placate is very useful but with the new ATO proc I dont use it. Ok i understand hover...that makes sense wanting defense and 3d movement and something to stop knock backs...always a good choice for ninjutsu..nice and easy can be used all over.

But i am not understanding super speed......since you have ninja run....why was super speed taken?...you can turn on sprint and ninja run and run almost as fast...so i am not understanding that bit.

I also am not following the stealth thing....you have hide so why stealth?

You know if you ditched stealth and super speed...you could take assult and maneuvers from leadership instead...which would net you increased defense and damage and effect your entire team....if you are ever on one...thus becoming more valuable and actualy being more effective solo.

I am not a proponent of the entire fighting pool thing...the 10% defense from weave and 10% resistance from smash lethal and making you take boxing or kick just never sits right with me.

I would take instead fly and after burner or maybe even some more leadership powers thats if you chose to do away with stealth and super speed....but again.....if that 10% is important which is 35% with after burner....then go for it.

Also you have Hide with one slot....ok...yah you get more slots for other things sooner....fine i understand the logic.....but when you exemplar you always have hide no matter how far you exemplar....so add at least 1 slot for a karma knock back protection.

Also about health and stamina

I see what you tried.....ok its better to only two slot stamina with the recovery and (chance for the +5) only...becasue you wont raise the 40% to much more then 55%...even with the other thing added...and the set bonus doesnt justify it very well either.
And on health you want to 3 slot it, with the three special health ones...+recovery, +recovery/+regen, and +regen ones...those help a tremendous amount and will stay with you even when exemplared as you keep powers +5 levels to you now...thus even at level 1 those things will effect you.

This is just my advice and concerns and questions....so maybe they will help.

I'm surprised nobody goes with the Villain Patron Pools. Water Sprout is a life saver at times, and the holds they have mean more criticals.

Hmm, I may have to look to another respec....

But yeah, the question...

What is wrong with the Villain Patron Pools?

I didn't really look at villain patron pools...

It's "mostly" based off McNum's build...but all the builds helped get it here

If I could make any improvements I would want to lose some ranged and/or melee defense for more aoe defense...but that leads to a question...how much aoe def will I lose after hide breaks? I assume it's half? If so then it's not a problem.

There is one thing about my build you should know, until very recently, it was extremely Endurance hungry. Keep that in mind when you pick the Leadership powers, they're expensive. I haven't gotten that many of my IOs yet, though, still just level 32.

Also, thanks for showing me a flaw in my own build. I'll just move that Numinia's to Health... Why did I slot that in Physical Perfection in the first place? No idea.

As for how much AoE defense you lose when toggling off Hide, you can check that in Mids. Just hit View Totals and uncheck Hide by clocking the green bubble next to it.

Glad I managed to catch one of your...mistakes...in an otherwise seemingly solid build

I meant more of Hide breaking though...is it not like invis where you lose like half the defensive bonus? Or do you lose all def bonuses when hide breaks?

As far as I know, you lose all defense bonuses from Hide when you're not Hidden. In exchange, Hide does not cost endurance and won't even be detoggled by running out.

So my build goes from 75% AoE Defense to 29.4% when I'm unhidden. It's a weakness in the build, but I can't see anything I'm willing to give up for it. This is pre-Incarnate, though. Maybe the Melee Hybrid slot will do wonders. Pure speculation, of course.

ok sooo level 4.....super speed with a stealth proc in it?!?

I am guessing this is for pvp?

Hate to say this....but super speed doesnt use stealth in pvp...its a no stealth power for that part of the game.
Also supression is not a good thing.
Might want to move the stealth proc. to sprint which does not get supression or get turned off.

if this for pvp...your best bet would be teleport instead of super speed

And then there is hide....you know you can slot karma a -knockback into it....

So superspeed doesn't add to invis in pvp anymore? Maybe I should take fly or hover then? Throw in a fly speed in it to chase down any ranged fliers? Or maybe air superiority to bring em down?

I made a few minor changes...another question...suppose I do pvp...do the prestige sprints suppress in pvp? If so I guess I can move celerity +stealth over to sprint. I also added the glad proc back in...not sure how I missed that.

I'm also considering switching out one of the Mako's for a Touch of Death...they have similar bonuses it would just boost my melee defense instead of ranged.

Looking at your last build try..more comments...

Still say mag 12 KB is overdoing it. 8 is fine. Regardless, if you are pvping, 12 is nowhere near enough..so I am assuming you are not pvping.

Caltrops..now slotted with PosiBlast?? Seriously? At least when you had the slow set in there it was helping your defence.

Repeating my comment about Uber Recharge levels..ie..you dont have many powers that actually benefits (Much) from rech that high.

3 slotting Retsu for rech? Yeah, it is a great power..but you are much better of getting your defence high enough to barely need it. And most of the time when your defence is not enough..you are fighting stuff that doesnt worry about def. That is..def + MORE def =..just def. ANd the amount retsu gives is overkill.

Since you are somewhat new to Stalkers, I would strongly recommend
you focus on getting a PvE only build before worrying about PvP. Forget
PvP for the time being and make sure you understand what goals you
want to achieve in your PvE build. Once you are happy with you PvE
build then you can focus on your PvP build...which will be *very* different.

Example 1: As a stalker in PvP, you need to get to the stealth cap. Getting
to the cap means taking the Concealment Pool. And unless you are an old
school stalker, getting to the stealth cap also means slotting a stealth IO.
Adding extra stealth does nothing for you in PvE.

Example 2: In PvE, 4 or 12 points of knockback protection is fine.
In PvP, you want to shoot for 41 to 42 points of KB protection (The build in
question is Rad/Psi, but the KB Protection discussion is good).

Once you have a PvE build you are happy with, then go to the PvP section
and ask questions.

One more suggestion. You can set up MIDs to only show the suppressed value
of hide. I am unable to check exactly how to do that atm. But it is useful
when planning builds on a stalker. Or you could just plan your build
without having hide on (there are some annoying escort missions where the
follower can't follow you with hide on).

Finally, help us help you. Describe exactly what you want to do with
a build when asking for help. PvP (Zone, Arena, Fiteklub)? PvE (mostly
team, solo at +0x2 with bosses, solo EBs, solo AVs, solo incarnate
missions at +4x8)? Are you powerleveling this up to 50 or are will you be
playing up to 50 (what level is you toon atm)?

I have a level 50 Nin/Nin that I just finished IO'ing out for the second
time. I've been doing story arcs redside. I normally do missions at +0x2
with bosses. I mainly want to test myself against EBs. I don't have an
incarnate level shift and have found the DA missions...challenging
(but fun).

I was reluctant to post earlier. You only asked "whatcha think?", and your
build was so all over the place. I guess I shouldn't be so crotchety.

Ok I' will be doing PvE 99.5% of the time...I may go mess around in PvP zones here and there...nothing too serious. Basically I'll expect to get owned by real PvP toons.

I will be playing my way to 50...Figure mostly on teams...if I'm solo it's more like test runs and the difficulty will be set to what I decide I can handle...I've been playin a while...I can figure that stuff out.

I will likely be running Incarnate Trials mostly at end game(likely before I'm all the way done with IOing)...DA is a bit too slow for me solo(haven't really tried teams) unless I just don't wanna mess with people. I have 2 other toons that can farm tickets, purples, or whatever merits I need well enough for me to get what I want.

Just for flavor my favorite iTrial so far is TPN...I hate sLams and Keyes they are a bit too chaotic :P

I am also going for +12 kb protection...I have plenty of Melee experience and +4 is NOT enough for me. Good catch FallenHero I missed that one

Here's the latest build...I actually left a few things open...the 2 open slots in CJ and a power pick at 24(maybe somewhere else if I switch out power selections)...there are also slots I could probably easily lose. I'm thinking hover or more likely fly for that power selection...but am open to suggestions. If the Celerity +stealth proc is wasted in Quick, should be moved to Sprint or just plain won't do me any good, I can do my normal thing and put a Jump IO there...no biggie.

Also I guess I should note I'm looking at Nerve Core Paragon and Vigor Core Paragon for Alphas. I'll worry about Destiny and Interface later...ntm Hybrid.
