My First Bane
Im at work right now and cant post build.. but i basically followed a old pvp bane build that i think macscull posted.. in pve i have 70% def range. and about 50 to melee.. in pvp.. its about 43 to 37 ...
but its very easy to go over board in pve.. if you build for def.. and shatter - shatter armor- placate shater destroys anything.. throw in range attacks and some surviellance .. your golden
just build for def and hp.. youll be good in pve..
Freedom:
Iron-Blade 50kat/invul Iron Ascension 50trifpb Cinder Reborn 50fire/kin Zaha'doom 50triws Cindered Stones 50fire/ston ColdFusion 35 ice/rad Iron Ash 50 Fir/WP
Iron Wind km/regen Iron Static elec/reg Psy Entity 50 psy/dev Iron-Assassin 50 nin/nin
This is my pve build, probably a bit heavy on end but I usually run with T4 cardiac.
Purples are not mandatory, you can just swap them for decimation/crushing impact.
Bear in mind the def bonus of cloaking device is halved when not hidden, even in that case I am softcapped in all positional.
Accuracy and dmg are pretty crazy, hasten is close to perma and with T4 cardiac I have even good s/l res (over 40%) and obviously zero end management issues. Add in T4 rebirth with +Max HP and you're golden.
The only weakness of this toon is flat zero def debuff resist, but oh well.

You take Pulverize at lvl 30? Pulverize is one of the better DPA for Bane. You should take it at lvl 8?
Looks like you are going for a mix of range and melee. Honestly, I think the only ST range attack that is worth taking is Poisonous Ray. You really don't need Mace Beam and/or Mace Beam Valley. You can drop it and take Venomous Grenade.
Venomous Grenade is arguably the best aoe attack in the game IMO. Yes, it will cause some minor weapon redraw but it is totally worth it.
VG has HUGE radius, does decent damage, debuffs 20% or 40% toxic, recharge is a bit on the long side but you can easily make it shorter than the duration and endurance cost is less than 12 which is well below the average target aoe attacks.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
My Bane Spider's "leveling up" build was melee-oriented and very confused and inefficient, but I didn't really have endurance problems... even with the notoriously end-hungry Obliteration set in Crown Control. I also skipped Hasten and worried more about defense than recharge.
If you plan to open your attack chain with melee attacks, then you should start with Shatter so you gain the benefits of the Executioner's Strike. You can buff yourself with Build Up and debuff your foe with Surveillance without breaking your stealth and then WHAM! If your target is an annoying Lieutenant, one attack should finish them, and you can begin another attack chain with Shatter Armor.
In my own experience, the melee attacks are a bit too slow to make a satisfying attack chain without Hasten unless you have all four. On the other hand, it's perfectly valid to open with an Executioner's Strike, Shatter Armor and Crowd Control, and then mop up with ranged attacks.
I agree with Jibikao that Venom Grenade is a great attack, but I think it's mostly great as a first attack to soften up a group before you hit them with AoE attacks. But if you prefer to use your Executioner's Strike and melee attacks, I don't think Venom Grenade is nearly as useful.
I would organize your powers to get the real Bane abilities early and the pool powers later. For example, I like to leave Assault (Pool) until 47 or 49 because it does not require a lot of slotting (suitable for 49th) but it is an endurance hog that I don't want to run unless I also have my alpha power covering its cost.
One of my Bane builds is in this thread. It is similar to what you have outlined here, but has pets instead of crowd control powers. Massive DPS is its own form of crowd control.
I Also took Bayonet because I love that power...I'm a big fan of DOT and Bayonet does a lot of DPA I think. I also like the fact that after Bayonet The redraw for Bash is super short.
This is the first build I cooked up for my Bane Spider. It's capable of being called a build only loosely since it's just powers. But I finished picking them out and realized I'm not really sure how to slot them. I'm hoping someone will have some advice. My main goals were to have a decent smattering of ranged attacks and control while sticking with a pure mace build and getting all the positionals softcapped. I think this build is capable of doing all that. The thing is the end costs for the melee attacks seem too high to be an actual attack chain. I was hoping to have a chain of Shatter Armor-->Pulverize-->Shatter mixing in Bash as needed (if needed). I guess maybe with incarnates that could be possible. Or maybe just because I'm really tired I'm being dumb and it'll be easy to finish this thing in the morning. Either way, thoughts on this build? Keep in mind I'm trying to avoid any attacks that don't use the mace. Except for Boxing. That's a necessary evil.
