Rotated items

What can we use to turn an item something other than 90deg? I thought it was a wall sconce but am having no luck at all. Is there a guide/sticky/step-by-step somewhere that shows how its done? And with what item to use as an anchor?

You don't need to anymore. After you place an item, go to move it and hold down the ALT key. You'll find that you can rotate it to almost any angle you want. It doesn't work while placing the item initially - they had to disable it because it caused some bugs.

Items spinning freely...the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Thank you, Codewalker!

Holding down 'Ctrl' will allow you to move it on the same plane.
More great info.

Could someone explain what the affect the objects' blue bounding box has now? When playing with the rotate/move, I saw that I could 'scale' the object select box. Was kinda hoping it was going to scale an item, but so far I dont see that it does anything.

It's just a weird bug I think, that the bounding box distorts when rotating objects.

You can abuse it to get rotated objects partly into doorways / embedded in outer walls, but otherwise it's harmless.

I tend to avoid anything that does that, as it could break you base irrevocably.

the bug I found when we could decorate doorways was objects could be placed in rooms they didn't belong.

this wasn't a game killer until you relocated the entrance to your base.

Once that was done it was very easy to misplace your entrance portal outside of your construction zone, could not be fixed.

the result would be, someone loads into your base, and would fall...

forever...

and ever...

amen....
