Rescue Jason and Kenneth, impossible to complete
I've not had occasion to get "very angry" with any of the CS people.
|
I may have had some choice thoughts as I wrote back to point out their mistake, but there's nothing to be gained from abusing the people from whom you need help (unless they're masochists).
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
I am sorry for my rudeness in all areas.
It was just a bit much for me seeing the same GM respond with his usual unhelpful response.
I'm tired of bugs, let alone bad support for them.
I replicated what might be a similar situation. I made a Test AE mission.
Create a basic AE arc, in Mission Details -> Advanced Mission Goals create an Escort (I used the following options either because they were the default or the first options unless I put them in Bold):
Escort Group: 5th Column
Character: 5th Column Krieger
Surrounding Enemy Group: 5th Column
Enemy Group Alignment: Rogue
Combat Abilities: Non Combat
Destination: Mission Entrance
Arrival Behavior: Run To Nearest Door
Betrays When: Does Not Betray
Once inside the mission, the NPC (captive) was surrounded by two captors.
As a captive, he had an orange reticle, but could not be attacked.
If I went far enough away, he stood up. If I got close, he went back to the captive animation (hands on head, kneeling).
If I got farther away or stealthed (SS+Stealth, Arctic Fog), he would stand up.
If no stealth, he would go back to crouching/captive.
I could not lead him out of the mission.
Sounds similar to what you saw. I suspect it is a bit of an issue with how the Escort works with Rogue/Non Combat settings, but it's probably just a mistake on the mission designer's part that the escort had those settings instead of more common ones that work appropriately.
I do think that combination of Rogue Enemy and Non Combat Escort should result in the Escort following you out the door, though.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Mods....
Delete this if it is against the rules, but I am well within my right to complain about completely horrible support. |
I cut out the other GM's name, but GM Lloyd needs to be fired. |
It's really funny how they completely insult even their "possibly paying" customers.
|
hmm... Then again, maybe it is 'deliberate' in a way. I know that a lot of businesses will put a note in a customers file if that customer is considered a pest.
Paragon City Search And Rescue
The Mentor Project
Odd, now the bug is happening the other way. FYI, my character is a Loyalist.
Mission: "Eliminate Sergeant Iminez in warehouse"
Contact: Investigator Whitworth
I'm disguised as a syndicate member in this mission.
Sergeant Iminez, a resistance spy in the PPD also working with the syndicate, starts out as an ally until you talk to him at which point is is supposed to turn hostile and attack while being vulnerable.
He stayed an ally, but he did attack the syndicate.
His resistance member guards are still an allies to me as well.
This mission is apparently doubly bugged though. Not only did he stay an ally, impossible to kill as the story required, but the mission completed while he was still alive.
It should be required to kill him, and he should turn hostile to me.
Edit:
Looks like I was right, Texas Justice and everyone. It's not just a "one time only" bug. I've seen it twice just in Imperial City story arcs.
Another instance....
Mission: Meet Jones' Boss
Contact: Chance McKnight
Masamoto starts hostile but doesn't turn ally after his health hits a certain threshold like it used to.
This was supposed to force you to "show mercy" as the story says.
And this was just a few missions after Investigator Whitworth and the above bugged mission.
Confirmed that the original mission is definitely impossible to complete on a new character brute without stealth.
1) He is a senior GM. The posted correspondence shows that.
2) He does this EVERY TIME.
I used to be polite, but the 30th(at least) time was my limit. I'm rather sick of always, ALWAYS, seeing COMPLETELY UNRELATED answers to my petitions/bug reports.
In this case, I'm looking to get my auto-complete timer reset, not a tutorial on how to subscribe.
