Simply put, you gain Reward Tokens by spending money. First purchase of any amount (min $5), every 1200 points purchased on the Paragon Market, or each month VIP gains you 1 token.

Basically - 1 token at the end of each month of subscription, 1 token for every 1200 purchased points (1200 points, not $ US - the bonus points count), and there are two 1-time bonus tokens you can get as well.
One for the first points purchase, one for adding a "retail box" code.
For box codes, places like Big Lots might have some boxes for sale cheap, and amazon, although do make sure they are "New" boxes, not used, as you cannot use the code inside twice.

Buying a VIP subscription will get you the Global Channels right away, regardless how many Reward Tokens you have right now.
To make the channels permanent, you need 5 Tokens for Tier 3 rewards (yes? I think), so a three month sub will get you there.
To buy outright with only points, you'd have to buy 6000 points, which I think is $50 if you only have 1 reward token (the starting one) right now. If you have some tokens already by multiply the tokens you need by 1200.
Montly subs can also be bought in smaller chunks. One month for $15 and you get to try out the channels (plus 400 points and one more token). You will still get the channels right away, even just for having the one month sub.
Three month subs are a good deal and get you a small monthly discount, plus 1200 points total to spend. I think the three month is around $42, which is a little easier to swallow in one chunk. A three month sub is guaranteed to get you the Reward Points you need, I think, as it will net you 3 itself and the first purchase gives you a bonus of 1.
Buying subscription time doesn't grant you the first-purchase bonus, that is only for buying points.

I dont really understand how this works, but i want to get to reward tier 4 so i can join channels, so how do i earn "reward tokens" (other than the first one for getting knowledge badge)
