If you have an IO license, then yes, they will drop - doesn't matter if that license is purchased, the permanent one from rewards, or the one included in VIP.

The invention license is at Tier 7 so, yes, you can get purples.

Not getting a purple in 8 farm runs is not an accurate indication that you can't get purples. I've gone over a year without getting a purple on a given character before.

I got 1 per year average for my first 3 years here - then after that they were dropping like confetti.
