Trying to email item to alt, sender is auto-receiving...
and your reply with infl came through fine.
Just to be clear, did you use "@Green Majin" or "@Green_Majin"? You don't want to add the underscore if that's what you did. I emailed you using "@Green Majin" and that's what went through to you. |
If you don't mind, could you send another global? I am logged in as the alt now.
Thanks for the help
Yeah, @global Green Majin is what I tried.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

The @ symbol distinguishes it from the toon name
@ = "global"

When you log in, you'll see a bunch of green system messages in your chat. One of them is a reminder of your @global name. I just highlight it and copy and paste to the email when I'm sending stuff around.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
Sorry, I was unclear.
How does the system differentiate between a global handle and a character when they both have the same name? |
Your character name would be "Green Majin" (no "@")
Edit: Darn... not fast enough...

Global has an @ in front of it when you e-mail. ^_^
Also, you can only e-mail to globals.
When posting in global channels you will see your global listed. When posting to server-specific channels like help, coalition, super group, team chat, broadcast etc. you will see your character's name listed.
I'm not sure if that answers your question... CoH knows what your global name is, and what your character's name is. It doesn't get them confused.

On a brand new account, your global name is based off the name of your first character (by just having the @ tacked on to it). You'll also get one chance to change your global name to something else if you want to (which you mentioned that you've already done).
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
Attachments, however, can only go to globals.

Still not working...
Thanks for the help, everybody!
I'll figure it out, eventually.
It is not: @Green Majin Green Majin
What you need to enter in the to field IS: @Green Majin
And I don't see your response as to what exactly you are trying to send.

Here's how it should look.

You need to email to your global only. Then log out and log back in on the character you want to claim it on.
I have the global @Kheprera. My character, Malefic Elf, has a low level Damage IO to send to a new alt, Kyrse. I log on as Malefic Elf, send the gleemail to @Kheprera and add text in the message body (required)... generally the receiving alt's name. Log off and log back on as Kyrse. Kyrse opens the gleemail and claims the item.
Your global to send to would be, as previously stated, @Green Majin. You do not add anything else in the recipient line. Your email will show up as there with any character you log in with until you claim it and delete the leftover message.

Make sure you don't have any extra spaces before the name... I've done that before.
... and put something in the message area.... forgot that before, too.

I'm honestly not sure what I am doing differently, but by following everyone's suggestions, I've got it working.
Special thanks to StarGeek for email tag!
This is a great community
Check your options and make sure that you don't have the one that requires that the senders of emails to you be members of your SG. If you don't have an SG and that setting is turned on, you won't be able to send emails to yourself.
Glad to hear ya' got it going.

It sounds to me that you're sending the item, then seeing it in your email? That's perfectly normal, just log out, log in the other character and claim the email.
When you email something to yourself you're really tossing the item into email storage and any character on your account can retrieve it, including the one who originally sent it.
Example:
You have character Bob sends something to your global @whatever. Bob sees the item he just sent appear in his email inbox. Bob logs out and then character Jim is logged in and he also sees the item in his email inbox. Jim claims the item from the email and you've transferred it from one alt to another.
