Comics collection to sell for $2 million!
The irony of course is that the Aunt probably had no idea how vauable they were - she probably thought the boys would just have "fun" reading them someday.
It's cool how stories like these happen mostly based on sheer luck that people decide to keep these collection in safe places back during a time when no one had any idea how vauable these things would become.

>.> 2 million? That sucks that it was such a low ball number. I know that 2 of those comics have sold for that or near that by themselves... And considering the article said it had 44 of the top 100 comics collectors are looking to have that number is extremely low.
Very much depends what condition they were in. I'm guessing these were read a lot by the original owner, given that he bought them when he was 8, so, even after being in a loft for years, they might be creased in some way.

I believe the Detective Comics was listed as a 6.5 and something like half a million. It was the best of the lot, iirc.
One bit of news I read said this lot went for $3.5 million. I'm sure that was a reasonable price for the collection considering its likely condition and all the other factors. Still a nice chunk of change to be lying around in someone's basement. *shrugs*
