Ascendency of the Dominator: Doesn't work in Secondaries?

That's odd. I don't know what the difference would be, but I have it in Seismic Smash and it seems to proc every single time. It procced about 15 times in a row for me just now.
Has anyone tried the ATO proc in Whirling Hands? It seems pretty ideal in terms of recharge, and not needing a target to activate.
If so, does it work if you don't have any targets in range, and just trigger the power before combat?

WHY would you slot the AT io is seismic smash?? God, why? Your best damage attack, with a huge end cost and rech, that you want to get down? And you use the proc in it?? WTF
I can only assume you are not putting the entire set in there...but given the crazy talk, I would not discount it.
It is an IO set for CONTROLS, clearly. Not damage powers that happen to have a control. Put it in your main hold, so then Seismic Smash GETS the damage bonus. Obviously

Because it's a power with a long recharge (= high proc chance), that you want to use as often as possible (= make good use of the high proc chance). The buff lasts plenty long enough to benefit the next Seismic Smash, anyway.

Dress it up how you like Hopeling..its still a dumb place to slot it. Your ST Hold is what you will be leading with most fights..giving maximum benefit from the +dam.
Even with a low rech on the hold, you WILL be using it more then Smash, and its going off nearly every time.
Not to mention..in the ST, that means you are getting that sexy set of bonuses from lvl 10 onwards.

My build has 185% global recharge bonus, and hecatomb slotted in Seismic Smash.
Many fights I wouldn't even use strangler, and some fights I don't even need controls beyond roots.
But supposedly its working for others so I will try it again.
When something good happens to me, I can never enjoy it....

Also..let us not even mention those doms that are NOT plant..or who dont have 185% rech? If any exist I guess..

Seismic Smash is a great place for it because it's a power you want to use any time it's up. And 5 slots is plenty to get enough accuracy/damage/recharge slotting into it.
As for putting it in the single target hold, Elec/ has a long activating one, so personally I only use it if everything else is recharging...
I can definately slot the Recharge/+Damage proc in Seismic Smash, but it never procced once in 50 attempts.
Is there a reason this proc will not fire in my secondary?
Seismic Smash definately works with the Purple hold set proc....
