MM Primaries (Rating help)
I'm not a big MM player, but...
Thugs/Poison: So painfully awful I never got past level 20. Necro/Poison: So painfully awful I never got past level 20. Beast/Poison: Okay, this one worked. Bots/Traps: So painfully boring I never got past level 20. Demons/Dark: Okay, this one worked. Beasts seem significantly more durable than Demons but that might be because I've mostly solo'd with the beasts and teamed with the demons, and MM pets are always more fragile on a team. Aesthetically, I like the wolves and lions better than giant skull-headed skinless demon creatures. The demons definately do more damage though. |
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
Would you mind sharing your demons/time build? I want my first MM to be demons/time and this is the first I've heard anyone say that they're awesome

If you get the 2 +Def enhancements, the 2 +Resist enhancements, and the 1 + AoE Def ATT enhancement, that alone will bump up your Demons' defense and resists quite nicely. The resists stack with the Demons' Ember Shield. Plus /Time offers -To Hit, +Def, and heals (one of the Demons will help heal also). Between myself,my Epic Power Pool, and the Demon Prince, I think we have like 4 holds, which is awesome.
If I can remember,I'll post my build later. Hope that helps a little....Demons/Time is VERY solid.
A bunch of 50s and too many alts...

Questions about Fire/Rad? Just ask!
Thugs/dark is just god like
Bot/traps is ok, overhyped IMO
Necro/Dark (the stalker of MMs, you can ambush like a ****, but unplanned shenanigans can hurt).

The only things it's bad against are high AoE damage (which all MM's struggle with) and fear immune enemies. Everything else is just a matter of making good use of your tools.
Demons, Bots, and Thugs are pretty much the God-Tier Primaries of MMs.
Bots are remarkably sturdy and have AoEs up the yin-yang, not to mention /Traps and /FF make them pretty much nigh invulnerable. Combined with a good immobilize power like Electrifying Fences and you can melt mobs, bosses, and AVs.
Demons are one example where having a little bit of everything doesn't make you mediocre, it makes you ridiculous. Exotic damage types, -res, holds, heals, resists, buffs, etc, etc. I have a Demon/Thermal. Reppu and I once did an experiment of running a team of 8 Demon MMs.. Ember Shield stacking = Hardcapped resists.
AT LEVEL 12. BEFORE IOs.
Thugs, though mostly lethal, have the Enforcers as easily the best T2 pets in existence, bar none. Leadership pool on TOP of Player Leadership? Oh hell yeah! The Arsonist, if kept alive, does easily the most ridiculous amounts of damage. There's a reason Thugs/Dark is so OP.
