Build Request (Ice/MA)

I need a little help here, fellow tankers.

I decided to start a new toon called Blood Runs Cold (+1 if you get the reference), and that means I'm making him an Ice Armor/Martial Arts character.

Could anyone help me out here? I don't mind a cookie cutter build. I just need something to follow since I'm mindless when it comes to building my own character without totally screwing him up.

Translation: The best think I can say is to try and make a build where you soft cap your S/L and E/N defenses to 45. (Editors note: I prefer the soft cap numbers to be pre EA usage, but MA's defense boost from it's tier one attack gives you some leeway.) Post your build here and we can help you with it.

Well, I'm not asking for help slotting. I just need help choosing powers and when to actually put slots there, and I can just go from there to something else.

That's all I really need right now.

I recommend a few things. First, maybe read a guide or two. Links are at the top, there are a few Ice tanker guides, and the set hasn't changed too much over the years so they should be mostly current.

Second, do a search for Ice tanker builds and MA builds. You probably won't find one that is exactly Ice/MA because MA is new, but even just a few other Ice tanker builds will give you a great starting point.

Then put something together.

Then we'll critique it and help you out. Most of us just want to see some effort put into it first.

Where to now?

Sure thing. I'm just a victim of Alt-itis and I look at my powers and I draw a blank. Let me get back to you if I find a good selection.

I wish it were as easy as replacing a primary with Ice Armor, but you never know if you're picking bad Ice Armor powers or at least skippable ones.

There are only two "skippable" powers in Ice Armor, and even then they're useful to have.

1) Permafrost: gives you some extra cold resistance that you don't really need and some fire resistance which is useful. However, having this power increases your resistance against slows, which comes in handy a lot in the later levels. Plus it can be useful with just the base slot with a Reactive Armor +Def IO in it.

2) Hibernate: If you're at the Defense soft-cap, then you may not need this power much. However, having an extra "oh pancake" power can come in handy.
