RIP Whitney Houston

That and she'd never really beaten her various addictions. She toured out here in Australia in 2010, and people actually walked out as she continually wandered off-stage, even for twenty minutes straight at one point.

I remember when she first came on the scene and she was energetic, happy and just delighted to be doing what she could do best, singing.

Now we have a situation where performers in their sixties and seventies are outliving current generation performers. And then you hear about how young stars like Rhianna and Katy Perry and their male counterparts go on week-long benders with some cocktail of energy and protein drinks to let them party on longer....

The truly sad part is that noone will step in to help because they're rich and famous and somehow that makes it acceptable....

Some people like to watch celebrities fall from grace. Some people do not intervene to help the celebrity because they likely don't want to get kicked off the gravy train for trying to help them, or they simply enjoy riding the gravy train and hope it doesn't get derailed. Also some celebrities/addicts don't realize they need help or just don't care.

The same generation that gave us Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and Roger Daltry also gave us Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. So the live fast, die young phenomenon is nothing new, it's just that some people survive it, and some don't.

Oh..... I think I have an idea as to what happened... Houston took a medication (legal or otherwise) and thought that getting into a tub of hot water would make her feel a little better... The problem with doing that and not realizing that a rise in body temperature causes the medication to actually become more potent....and more than likely with the organ damage (ie heart) that was done while she was using cocaine...her heart simply gave out.....

Please realize this is just an opinion and I am not a doctor or in the medical profession. I am just recalling some things that I have read in regards to medicines and then getting into a tub of hot water.....
Apparently, earlier that day she was spotted wandering around doing silly things like skipping and performing hand stands. Staff at the hotel said she reeked of alcohol and the drug, Xanax, was found in the bathroom which, when mixed with alcohol, causes sedation. My bet is she fell asleep and slid down the back of the tub.

Latest news is that early reports indicate Xanax, other prescription drugs and alcohol. Coroner apparently has stated there wasn't enough water in her lungs to indicate drowning.
