You can't put them in storage because, as far as I'm aware, there is no way for a storage container to know that only one account is allowed to take those items from it.

I really wish they would make the 15 second email timeout not apply when sending to your own account.
The only personal storage device is one's Vault and that is flagged to hold only invention salvage. It could be flagged, I'm guessing, to also hold enhancements. Maybe.

I have this same problem. I hate them cluttering up my e-mail. I currently have almost all my tuned on one character. over 50 of them. can you imagine moving them off? oof. I have the enhancer tray upgrades, so I can move 30 at a time. I currently have a "Banker character" an old 50 I parked. Is leader of a very large defunct supergroup. I store all my spare enhancers there, and am currently moving any "floating" tuned I/Os into his trays as well.
